They offer the booklets for a nominal price, and the listings are on a webpage somewhere (perhaps the Knox County page for the US GenWeb project?) -- we've now forgotten where and changed computers/browsers and lost many of the old bookmarks. We didn't lose their address, though , as it is still PO Box 13,

Patti........you asked if there is a faster way of searching..............faster than what? Once you pull up a page, you can a "Ctrl + f ".....which is a "find" command, and type in a word.....such as "IL" or "Ill" and it will go to each place that has a ref. to Illinois.....or type in a name you are looking for. There is no over all search engine for the site. Hope this helps. Linda -----Original Message----- From: Patti S What an interesting site...is there a faster way of searching.

9. Re: [ILKNOX-L] Re: HOIT/HOYT/TAYLOR [1]
Hello! I've been searching for data re a MARTHA G. TAYLOR who married George E. Powell on Jun 20, 1865 in Knox County. She had a son, ED TAYLOR, who she brought to the marriage. I "think" somewhere along the line I attached the name of MARTIN TAYLOR to her as a first husband and father to ED. 11. [ILKNOX-L] Re: ILKNOX-D Digest V00 #32 [1]
Johnsons are way to common. I have been looking for a John Vernon Johnson for about a year now. I have his obit which states his family moved to Rockford when he was 5 yrs old. They had lived in Galesburg prior to the move. I'm guessing they were Swedish M.E. but I have no proof yet.By the way John V was born in 1856. If any one has a way to track the parents I would sure appreciate some directions. Thanks for any input. Carol

13. [ILKNOX-L] Peter Jones and other equestrians [1]
Currently I am working on an equestrian history project. Circumstantially, it appears that Peter Jones who lived near Maquon, IL had a horse track at his farm. This is an assumption, which requires some reading between the lines; will offer this to the list to see if anyone has family history research to help confirm or dispell. Jones was born in either CT or VT(possible transcription problem in 1850 census), moved to Rochester, NY and then to Maquon, circa 1835. He died in 1856 but it seems his estate

15. [ILKNOX-L] Recent Cemetery Lookups [1]
Knox Co Researchers, I recently completed lookups on the Knox Co. Cemetery Film that I have from the LDS Family History Library. I did not realize at the time I e-mailed my results hat I had missed all of Galesburg Township in my search. Those cemeteries are on a separate film. I'm going to order the fiche for my research purposes (FHL US/CAN Fiche 6126239+). My search did not cover the following cemeteries in Knox Co: Hope, Linwood, East Linwood, Brookeside, Clay-Mosser, Memorial Park (Dunndale Ceme

17. [ILKNOX-L] Church records c.1860-1880 [1]
Greetings all - I am looking for further clues to the origins of one John J. LAWLER who married Mrs. Sarah Ann HENSHAW (nee DOSSETT) in Galesburg in 1861 and resided in Persifer Township near Galesburg until they moved to IA in 1878. How prolific are church records (membership changes, baptisms, etc.) from this era in and around Galesburg (esp. Persifer Twp.)? Have they been cataloged or indexed at all? I was hoping to find some more clues through this angle but I don't know if I'd be wasting my time. S

Something seems to be screwed up with my mail, as only partial messages are being sent, perhaps due to some gremlins in the text. I have verified that I am sending complete messages, but in test messages to myself, only the first few lines have been received. This message seems to have been sent in its entirety once, so I'm trying it to the list again. My apologies for inflicting my problems on you generous folks.
