directly due to grieving over her son-in-law, Andrew Dovan, and his son,
John, victims of the mine disaster.

Hi,
Just found a short bio of George Stasell of Otter Creek township.
He was born in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, on January 4, 1859. He
married Amelia Benckendorf. Only problem, this book was published in
1906, and does not list Mary Margaret as a child of George. The only
children listed were: Henry, Lillian F. and Esther. Is it Henry and
Lillian that are buried next to Mary M.?
George's parents are Gerhard and Eva (Schubert) Stasell.
George's siblings are: Dora, George, Lizzie, Gerhard, F

Hi,
I went to Riverview today, Sunday, to visit my grandparents grave, and
thought I would take a look for Fred.
Unfortunately, I did not take a pen or pencil.
I found M. M. Stasell Gilman's grave. She is buried between Henry
Stasell, who was born a few years before her, and Lillian
Stasell-Mortland. Lillian's dates are 1895-1971. Was Henry her
brother? Was she a twin? The three markers are the same and look about
the same age. Could Fred have been cremated and buried with her? One

The LaSalle-Peru newspaper had a fire around 1905. There are no microfilms
available before that time. Both town libraries have microfilms for the
paper. The LaSalle County Genealogy Guild has copies and indexes for the
Ottawa papers onsite. They actually have books of copied obits. If the
person had family in Ottawa also, it might have been in those papers too.
What is the person's name and what cemetery?

Where would the most complete record of deaths for February and March,
1900, in LaSalle County be located? At least one, the one I am seeking, is
not on file at the County offices. The cemetery record lists place of death
as LaSalle. Is there another central data base?
Thanks
Hi David,

Happy Hunting in the New Year,
