Hi
Thanks for the response. I was wondering if Bureau County is in
Illinois? Sorry not familiar with it.

Dear Mike,
Shoot, we've got some Kerrs in LaSalle County, too, but I never heard of the
Halls and Kerrs taking up arms against each other (perhaps because they both
became part of the moneyed class, at least in my own town, Streator).

Another useful way to get to the IRAD site (Illinois records, including
Illinois marriage records) without pasting in a URL is to go to:
http://www.usgenweb.com
On the first page, select the state pages link. Drill down another page or
two until you are given the opportunity to select a state. Select Illinois.
At the bottom left of the next page is the link to get into the IRAD site and
you can then select the Illinois marriages link.

Hi, Dick:
I have located three Corrigan families in the Blackstone Sunbury area in the
1920 census: They include Thomas, age 39, married to Ella; William Corrigan,
age 32, married to Ella; and Michael J. Corrigan, age 55, married to
Josephina. Each had one or more offspring listed. Michael and Josphine's
fathers were from Ireland. They were all farmers.
I could mail you an image if you wish.
Best regards,
Tim Bryant

I have some GRUBERS that were Methodist Episcopal.
Don't have time to look right now, but I think a GRUBER married someone in
the family way back when. Ask me again after the holidays and I'll try to
dig up the certificate ..............

Hi List,
I wish to thank all those that responded to my query about the
Minister of the Gospel, Joseph Gruber.
I appreciate the help!

I've noted the exchanges regarding HALL's and I thought I'd throw in a little history of the name in Northern England, where the family name was supposed to have originated from, specifically from Redesdale (the valley of the River Rede) in the county of Northumberland.
In the 1500's to the mid 1600's, large families such as the HALL's, MILBURN's, HEDLEY's, DUNNE's and others in this area termed "The Middle Marches", became known as "The Border Reivers".
These families raided across the border into Scotlan

I am looking for any information someone may have on Hiram King and Jane Little.
According to the marriage index they married in LaSalle County, Ill. Nov. 11, 1860.
I am trying to figure out if this is Jane Little born to Robert and Jane Little of Otter Creek.
Jane would have been born around 1840 in PA.
She may have died before 1900 because her mother has on the 1900 census 5 of 7 Children still living?
Vikki Ireland
Joan you still out there?
Although the Ministers of the Gospel performed many marriages in the
Streator area in the1890s, I don't think they had a regular church. I did
find some information a few years ago, but this time when I tried a "Google"
search, I came up empty. Did find the course schedule.
My Great Aunt was married twice by a Minister of the Gospel, yet when
she died suddenly at 22, she was buried in a Catholic cemetery. Never have
figured that out.

Hi, Joanie and listers:
This is a reference back to ILLASALL-D Digest V03 #169. At that time Joanie had correctly identified the Michelazzo Canale tombstone as being in the same row as the Bryant graves, including those of my infant sister and my 2-year-old brother. I had told Joanie and the list that I thought the tombstone (actually just a wooden cross with metallic letters pasted on it) was instead located along the Rt. 18 side of the cemetery.
But today I found myself to be mistaken, as I went to deco
Sue-If you find a connection to this Hall family, I have a book about
the Indian Creek Massacre that I will try to copy for you. It is mainly
about the two Hall girls who were kidnapped and later released. My
husband descends from William Davis, who started the settlement and
whose family was also massacred there.
Libby Saxby
I am trying to locate information on a son of Anthony and Ellen (Condon)
Ralph. His name was James Ralph and he was first married to Irene Foley. She was
also known as Frances Irene Foley. One of James' sisters, Margaret Ralph,
was married to Francis Corrigan. I am actually researching the Corrigan-Foley
line, but this Corrigan line is not related. If anyone can provide me with
information on James Ralph, it would be much appreciated. The family lived near
Odell, Illinois. If anyone has records
When I had to get new computer I lost many of my bookmarked web sites. Can someone please give me the State of Illinois's web site for the marriage record? I will be most grateful.

Hi All
In answer to the below I have the following;
William Hall b.1787 GA married Mary Jane Rebecca Williams about 1808 in
KY, they had the following 7 children: John W., Edward H., Greenbury,
Sylvia, Rachel, Elizabeth, and Temperance.
Sylvia and Rachel Hall were abducted by the Indians during the Indian
Creek Massacre May 20th 1832, and their brother John helped to rescue
them. I think that Edward, Greenbury, and Elizabeth were killed in this
attack along with their parents.
As I mentioned in yesterday
I'm trying to find Augusta Ruchotzky/Ruchotsky in the 1860 or 1865 census for
LaSalle County. She was born about 1831 in Prussia. I know that she married
there in June 1866. Thank you for any help.
Lynn
The LaSalle County Genealogy Guild has all the records from Ottawa Avenue
Cemetery. E-mail me jenanj@ivnet.com and I will look up any of the records
for you. Just tell me who you need. I am also the President of the
cemetery board.

Hi, Sue. Just to throw this in the mix:
In Streator, I spent many years in a large house that
once belonged to Hugh Hall. This fellow died on
8-23-20 and was one of the town fathers. There are
probably a lot of stories about him in the microfilm
of the old Streator papers (the Monitor and the Free
Press). I also have the deed to the house, which was
left, as I recall, to an unmarried sister and her
companion.
