Does anyone possess any information on the Peru City Plow Works. I have
an 1876 photo of about 60 employees in front of the building. No one is
identified. Please contact me (JDo1950@aol.com) if you can name the subjects
in the photo.
Thanks
Contact me when you get to the Catholic Cemetery in Mendota.

Hi Folks,
I have located a site in which you could look up your rivermen or steamboats and also any Steamboat Co. alphabetically. Enjoy!

OK... I thought you all might be interested in seeing a
meteor shower/s over the next few days. Shane was coming
home from work and saw a green something fly across the sky
leaving a tail behind it... our neighbor saw it too.
Anyways, if you're interested, go to the Nasa website for
more info:
LeonidsLive.com -- Science news and live webcasts of the
Leonid meteor shower.
Hope we all see something.

You can call the actual Cemetery and ask the to send you a funeral profile
on the
person you are researching. They are usually very good with responding, and
many will fax you the information.
Good Luck

Jeremy, I would LOVE to give you information on the burial place(s) of my
relatives that lived in LaSalle Cty but I have no idea where they are buried. I
do know they were all Irish (except the Annable) and Roman Catholic. Audrey

Dear Listers:
I am starting a new interesting project for my website that will involve
most of you on the list.
I am building pages for cemeteries in LaSalle Co.
I would like to add more than just an index of names. I will have obituary
dates for a lot of the deceased, but most of all, I would like to have more
on the history of the families buried in the cemeteries, as well as the
history of the cemetery itself. I will eventually include photos of the
cemeteries.
The first cemetery I am working
My Thompsons were from Leland, LaSalle County, and were also Norwegian. The
family patriarch was Canute Thompson, also known (according to an old family
Bible) as Knud Torstensen Lucade (or Lusade). Does this connect in any with
with the Thompsons listed in this posting?

Hi, I'd like to get copies of the burial files/permits for my
great-grandparents who are buried in St. Vincent Cemetery, LaSalle. Can
anyone give me the address for the sexton/business office of the cemetery?
Thanks, Paula phurst@soltec.net
I am searching for HILL, NASH AND KIDD prior to 1900. All were in Illinois,
probably in LaSalle County. In addition, I am looking for Nash who moved to
eastern Kansas from Illinois, probably prior to 1900. I am sure there those
of the Nash lineage who currently live in Kansas. My grandmother was a Nash
and my grandfather's sister married a Kidd.
I'll appreciate any assistance you can give to me.

Could someone please check the records for the Ottawa Ave cemetery? I am
trying to find the names of four children of George HP FISCHER and Elizabeth
FAULSTICH FISCHER who are buried there. They were all born and died between
1881 and 1900. I have only two children (Elsie G and Paul F FISCHER), but
according to other records there were 6 children in all. The others were
either stillborn or died in infancy.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Does anyone know anything about Illinois Zinc Company in Peru, Lasalle.. Do any of their records still exist ? My great-grandfather Valentine Lipinski came to this country from Poland with his wife Sophie Kinczewski in 1883 and immeditly went to work for the Illinois Zinc Company; perhaps he was recruited directly from Poland. I am trying to establish where in Poland he came from. All four of my great uncles worked there too.
Leo J. Lipinsli, Jr.
I would like this information also as my Great-Grandfather worked there .

Dear Jeremy, This is a wonderful idea. I hope at some point I can be
helpful. My Chamberlin family came to La Salle County from Washington
County, PA, in about 1856. Many of them lived in the Tonica area. Many of
the women married and I have not found much information about them. Good
Luck. Linda Stahl, Harrisburg, PA
I have family in St. Vincent's too. Just for grins the names I have so far
are Bernard (originally Beernaert) and Kilter (seems to have been Kielter).

Hi Fred,
No need to pay. What I have is photo copy that was sent to me by the La
Salle County Historical Society, Utica, IL. After they sent the copy I
offered to pay them for a print. Haven't heard back yet.
Sounds like you have the same problem as I. There's a good chance my gg
grandfather and maybe g grandfather are in the photo. But which ones are
they???
If you would like one of my photo copies just let me know where to send
it.

Jd,
Thank you very much. We're working on a history of the Zacher family who
moved to LaSalle County in 1865. We will include the photo on our web site.
Thanks, Fred
