Hi Amber,
Well... the first step might be to indicate what your last name is.
But... you might also just try a search and see what you find.
Go to www.google.com
search on your surname and the word origins or history or something like that.
See what type of information you can get.
I have had good luck doing that

Thanks. It's possible that Thomas and Catherine went to Kansas, but, they would have to have birthdates around 1820. Their son, William, was born in New Boston, Ill. in 1840, and located in Iowa after the Civil War. I have lots of information @ him. But, I'll check any lead. Thanks again, Rosemary

Henry's parents, William and Eliza Lowther were born in New York and
migrated to Richland Grove Township in Mercer County in 1837. They were
farmers and in 1850 the family consisted of the following:
William - 48, Eliza - 43, Henry - 17, Julia T. - 13 and Salinda - 4. They do
not show up in Richland Grove in the 1860 Census. I suspect they relocated
to Rock Island County where Julia married Ira Waterman.

Trying to locate some info on Joseph White who resided in Richland Grove,
Mercer Co., Ill. He was in the Civil War-Pvt Co. C 102nd Ill Infantry.
Believe he came from PA between 1855-1857. Possibly. Was the brother of
Lucinda White, wife of Ezekiel Nelson of Mercer Co.
Thank you
Roberta
Does anyone know who is the Sexton of the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, located just outside of North Henderson? His/her address would also be helpful.
I am hoping to get ahold of some records, if they exist, for the George W. Taylor family.
Thank you.

Fellow List Members,
I am wondering if one of you could possibly look up an obituary for me that would have been posted in the paper for Seaton, there in Mercer County. I hate to say that I don't know the exact date of death but do know that it was in December 1969. The individual's name was Clara OWENS.
Any help anyone can give me in helping me track down an obituary or any details concerning her death would be greatly appreciated!
Sincerely,
Tanya in Texas
A List member wrote the other day that he had a picture of Aledo High/or
it's students that he could send us, but I haven't heard anything back from
him. Has he actually gotten that picture out to anyone, and did I get just
get missed?

You're about right on the migration dates. Joseph - 44 and Mary - 41 White
came from PA and their son, William was 11 years old in 1870 and born in
Illinois. William's siblings; Franklin - 8, Joseph - 3 and Lewis - 1 were
all born in Illinois.
