I referred to a plat book of Montgomery County, which shows a map of the
County, with the separate Townships, along with their location, as well as
property owners, roads, streams, cemeteries, Business directory, etc. I
purchased these plat books from
Rockford Map Publishers,

Linda,
The Montgomery County Genealogical Society published marriage records from
1851-1880. I have both of those books. If you are looking for someone back
that far I will be glad to check for you.
Lois
Lois could you possibly look for a marriage between Benjamin Franklin Dodson
and Juliet, ( julia ) Terpening, 1870 ?
Thank you for any help.

Would someone look and see if HarryCadwell and Nancy Jane Stokes are in the Montgomery County marriage book for 1866? Would appreciate any information that you have. If they are how do I go about getting a copy of this. Thanks--Joyce

There aren't too many ways to spell Fletcher--I've tried without the "t", and
a dozen variations. In many areas, it was the 20th century before marriages
were recorded at the County level. I guess I'm hoping that

Thanks for reply. I have checked the marriage index and found what is there.
My problem is after 1900. The children of most of these ancestors were born
around 1890-1910. Sure wish there was a site that had "births" noted.
Wouldn't that be great?
Pat
There is a Johnston City in Franklin Co., IL.

A lot of times the spelling is all wrong and takes a little patience in
finding a marriage. Unfortunately folks back when didn't always spell very
good and those trying to decipher what was written made errors too.

I asked my mother, Audrey Settle Keith, about the Devaisher family today.
This is what this 81 year old woman remembers:
Gertrude and William Devaisher lived northwest of Butler, in Montgomery
County, Illinois (this was probably during the mid to late 1930s.)
Either Gertrude or her mother was a Carricker prior to their marrige, but
mother doesn't remember which one.
There were three children. Charles was the oldest and married Edna ??? from
Raymond. They had a son Gene who is deceased, as are they.
I am looking for information on the Devaisher Family. They lived in Montgomery County and in Fayette County. Anyone having information on this family it would be greatly appreciated.
Amy Devaisher

One of the subscribers to the Fayette Co., IL, list found the following marriage listing in the Illinois Statewide Marriage Index (http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/cgi-bin/archives/marriage.s):
David KEARLOCK m. Rebecca OSBORN, Aug. 29, 1857, Montgomery Co., IL; License 1696.
I thought I had tried all possible spellings, but I missed this one.
Does anyone have any additional information about either of these individuals?
