Please see my post earlier this evening re: 1855 Census.
The State censuses between 1845-1865 do not include
a list of inviduals in the household, only the head of household
William Reams appear in 1845, 1855, 1865 Censuses. Individual
years of birth and genders also appear.

Mr. Delbert R. Cobine wrote to me this week, he decends from the Shufflebarger, Burton, Fulkerson, Benard, Cullum, Clark and McDonald families of Pope Co. His ggg grandfather Isaac Shufflebarger was married to Elizabeth Burton and had 13 children, he was widowed, remarried to Margret Benard Scott [my family-JFL] and had 7 more children. Delbert is decended from both the wives; his g grandparents were William SBarger and Pernecia McDonald. If anyone would like to exchange information w/him, his address is:

There appears to be a great deal of confusion and a lot of people have a lot
of different information.
I think he originally came from York, England to southern New York in the
1700s and moved on over to Ohio and then to southern Illinois, specifically,
Golconda. I think that he had three sons with him. John Austin, Joshua
Bailey Austin, William Harrison Austin and Thomas Jefferson Austin. I have
a good bit of data on W.H. as I am descended from him. I believe all of my
W.H. data is correct. There is a
Jim, I hopefully still get the Pope County mailing list! I was receiving
both individual posts, and the digest form,,, so I unsubscribed from the
digest form, as I prefer the individual posts.
William Marion was the brother of my great-grandfather, Hal Robert Johnson.
Their parents were William T. (Buck) Johnson, and Missouri Ann Lundy. Do you
have their other siblings? If not, I do. I show William M, and Ella's
children as Marion Lavere Johnson born 5 June 1905 in Golconda and Darriel

I think I have the wrong parents for Frank Allen Butler and would like
your input.
Going by your information I now have listed:

IL married ?
Orlando Samuel Butler married Mary E. Allen on 05-301862
Thomas Orlando Butler married ?

Is this the correct order? Do you know who Thomas Orlando married and

Appreciate your help.

Yes. Ella Boos's father, George Otto Boos, was the brother of my

Carol, I don't have a birthdate but his will (#272, Book L) was filed in 1828
in Caswell Co. NC.---At one time I had a book of Caswell Co. Records from the
Shawnee Collection after it was moved to Mt. Vernon Illinois and Obediah was
mentioned quite often--I remember I copied nearly half the book. This is
where I got the names of his children and the information on at least 2 other
families in my line. Joan
Just wanted to say thanks to all you folks that ordered the Pope Co IL 1845, 55 & 65 State Census, I'll mail them this morning. Hope it helps you in your research. Thanks again, Judy
