2. [ILROOTS] Kankakee County, Albert S. and Alice OLSON [1]
In the 1870 Census, I see Albert S. and Alice Olson living next to Martin V. Pierson (who was my ggrandfather's,Lars Pearson, first son, born in NY). It's curious for two reasons: 1) In 1860 Census, my ggrandparents were living in the same household as an Albert and Alice WILSON (I don't know if WILSON was a mistake on the enumerator's part or if the WILSON's actually changed their name to OLSON, as it seems Norwegians were likely to do). 2) In looking into land records, I see that Albert S. 6. [ILROOTS] Website updated with many photos, documents, links, names, census look-ups,etc. [1]
Hello list, I've updated my website with not only my own family information, but also some data that I've put together to hopefully help others. Here's what you'll find. 1. Of course my family info with copies of documents such as those that I found at the National Archives in DC in my great great grandfather Louis KIRCHER's (born in Weinsberg, Wurttemberg) Civil War Pension files. Included in those papers are sworn statements made by friends to aid in the pension eligibility research. 2. I

11. [ILROOTS] James TAYLOR (or James Burns TAYLOR) b Glasgow SCT c.1853; d Chicago IL (date unknown) [1]
James TAYLOR (or James Burns TAYLOR), my great uncle, was born in Glasgow SCT in abt 1853. His father was a Ship's Joiner in Glasgow and James may at first have followed the same occupation. However he seems to have disappeared from Scotland by 1881 and according to family tradition he made a lot of money in the USA and was using a hotel in Chicago as his permanent address at the time he died. According to a family will he was still living in 1900 - probably, I would guess, he died in the period 1910
