Dear List,
Our server crashed for about 24 hours...noon on May 18 to noon on May

I had just joined and posted an important query to this list.
Regretfully, if there were any responses I did not receive them. If

Does anyone know the location of the records of the Getz/Cahill or
Eikenberry Funeral home?
Getz/Cahill was in operation in 1953 at 2300 Fairfield Av., Fort Wayne.
By 1955, there was a merger with Eikenberry. Eikenberry operated at 2318
Fairfield Av. until about 1974 when the building was left vacant.
Did Eikenberry Funeral Home merge with another funeral home? If it simply
closed, where are the records?
Have a good day!

I immediately called my DAR rep, and she said they (The DAR) are supposed to
retrieve them and get them back to their rightful owners, but there it isn't
necessarily anything illegal about selling them.
Just doesn't seem right to me, but may even be a way to find homes for stray
ones....

This was forwarded to me from another list - and it is true - Grave markers
are actually being sold on eBay auctions - I have responded to eBay, as well
as the sellers of these items - I am outraged!
Forward this to every genealogist and group on the net. Protest to E-Bay.

Thanks a million for this info. Both Richard and Walter were my father's
brothers. Doris was Richard's wife before they divorced. I never knew her,
personally, as this all happened before I was born.
Thanks again,
Cynthia Schrage
