The Rev. William Gossett who was amongst the pastors at the United Brethren Church mentioned in this story, is my maternal great grandfather. He later crossed the prairies as circuit preacher and built a church in the state of Washington and trying to locate that church.

I have found a Gertrude D. Stout living with her grandmother Maggie Hitesman in the 1930 Blackford Co., IN census. Gertrude was born 29 Aug 1918 in Delaware Co., IN to Valentine Stout and Sarah Pauline Hitesman. Valentine remarried and I assume Sarah Pauline was deceased. Can anyone there help me with G

It looks as though Elery was counted twice...I think you will also find him in the 1850 census in Waterford, Washington County, Ohio. I believe him to be the son of Edmund Perry...some weak connections to the Oliver Hazard Perry fame but I am struggling with it.
