Hi to all. I am new to the Clark Co. IN list.
I hope to be in Clark Co. in early December and would like to make the most of my limited time in the area. The more I can learn before I get there the better.
I am researching the family of my gg grandfather, Edmund I. DAVIS who lived in New Market, Oregon Twp. and then Charlestown between the years 1853 - 1862. He was listed in the 1860 census as a produce dealer.

I am looking for my maternal gg grandparents. The only thing I know about them is her name was Sarah J. Jones (she remarried J.A. Jones after her marriage to my gg grandfather, Mr. Collins). My information says she is buried in Eastern Cemetery in her father's plot. His name was Silas Fairfax Warder and I have no other info on him.
If someone is going to Eastern Cemetery, could you look up these names for me or tell me how I can get this info?
Thank you
Kate

Hi fellow listers,
Does anyone have a list of the Photography Studios that would have been in business in the mid to late 1800's in Clark Co. IN.? I have an old studio picture on a card and I am trying to identify the man in the picture. Written on the front of the picture is: Dowley - 138 E. Market St.
If this Dowley Studio is familiar to any of you Clark Co. researchers, please let me know.
Thanks, Vicki
I have never been able to find how, or record of,
Mathew McAfee, owning a piece of land in Lot 74 Of the
Clark Grants. He was a Rev War veteran, but served
with the 8th Penn Line from Westmoreland Co Penn, and
moved to Clark Co Indiana Territory in 1813.
Likewise, I have never been able to find how, or
record of, James McAfee, of Harrison Co Ohio, was able
to own a piece of land in Lot 74 of the Clark Grants.
He never lived in Clark Co Indiana (territory or
state), but came all the way from Ohio to Ind
