4. [Clinton Co IN] 1918-1919 Flu Epidemic [1]
I just came across something that I thought would interest some of you. As I've done research over the years I've tried to identify epidemics, migration patterns, anything that might help explain why people moved, how people might have died, etc. to get more background on people about whom I can't find any specifics. The 1918-1919 flu epidemic is one that I tend to forget about. Then this morning I discovered that they didn't call it "the flu", it was "Spanish flu" or "La Grippe". I can't count the number

Hello, It looks like may great great grandfather Jasper Okane McKenzie was born in Clinton County, Indiana, January 6, 1848. His parents may have been George W. McKenzie and Hester Ann Leach, married in 1846. His siblings may have been Joshua, Oliver, Dora, and Franklin McKenzie. At this time it looks like there could have been a spelling change to the last name from McKinsey to McKenzie during the 1860's.
