I have no proof of Tressia being the sister of my John W. King, but they did live next to each other on the 1860 census. William Dotson King and Nancy Turner were John's parents. I've verified the following children of William and Nancy: John W., Joseph, Mary Ellen, Martha, America, Lewis,
I hope you all can read this. This gentleman and his
wife have been working on photographing graves and
memorials for soldiers in the Philippines to send to
relatives back in the United States. Below is a list
of soldiers who were from Clinton County and were
listed as missing or are buried in the Philippines. If
you are related to any of these soldiers or know
someone who is, please pass this along and contact
these folks. I will be posting this list to the

Hello all!
I thought Pat Covington had a great idea about being a bit more specific
about the MOOREs of Clinton County! There are so many Moores that I
thought it would be helpful if I included as much information as I could
in hopes that we can "sort them out". Other surnames in the list are
Caldwell, Cloud, Conyers, Cunningham, Douglass, Dudlestone, Harrison,
Hughes, Jenkins, Julien, Major, McKinsey, Palmer, Pauley, Peter, Smith,
Strong, Timmons, Watkins, and White.
Let me know if there is anything
Here are my Clinton Co. surnames. If anyone has these names in their line, please contact me, maybe we can find a connection.

This is not my direct line, but my aunt married a son of Edgar McClellan
HARSHMAN and Nellie Viola MYNES; the daughter of David W. MYNES and Rachel
D. SLY.
Much of the information I have came from the book, "Ancestors and
Descendants of David W. Mynes and Rachel D. Sly," by Faye and Dolores
Hilton, 1999
Please let me know if I can assist anyone with this line.

Once again guys, please send these to the list, not to
my personal address, so that everyone else can see
them and we can all compare notes.
Thanks for participating! It's great to have some
activity on the list again!

I have several family names I am researching, but would love most to
know if anyone has pictures or memories of the Forest Soda Shop when my
Grandfather, Pete Eades, owned it. I have some pictures, but not very
many. Would love to hear stories as well!
The names I am researching include:
Eades (or Eads)
Stroup
Orr
Foreman
McQuinn
Plummer
Thanks!

My primary research focus in Clinton County is David Porter Hazelton Kennedy, born in 1828. Have not been able to pinpoint his parents even though he was born in IN.
David Porter Kennedy married Anna Jane Maddux in Clinton Co. in 1856.
I have census records for 1860, 1870, 1880 but could not locate an 1850 census for David Kennedy.
Any help in this research would be greatly appreciated.
