I have not read all your emails as I was gone from home last week and lots
of emails on here. Just see the name Riddle and wonder if any of your
ancestors ever lived in Decatur Co. Iowa or Nebraska. We have a lady here
in our county of Platte Ne. who has ancestors Riddle. let me know and I can
search the book for names you send. I don't know from the top of my head
where they were before Iowa.char.

I have some Rice's in my husbands line, and I changed it from Rice to Brooks in the subject line but not in my actual message because at the time this was a quick look up of names to post something to see if my email was coming through to me. I will look again at his line and see what Rice I have. I know there are several. I probably wont be able to get to it until tomorrow as it is getting late and I need to get my 2 year old down to bed.

I am quite sure it is at the Crawford Co. Library. You can contact
dleistner@aol.com and she will be able to tell you how to obtain the book.

Re Rice marriages to Riddles:
Would these marriages be in KY or IN?
Particularly interested in Thomas Dean marriage to Riddle
in trying to connect Daniel Rice Sellers to our George W. Dean and Ellen
Sellers marriage in Bracken Co KY 1850, who later lived Crawford Co IN.
Thomas Dean may be father of our George W. Dean b 1829 KY.

Jan, there is a book, Crawford County, Indiana Guardian Bonds 1848 - 1896
that has some RICE names in it. Also has Riddle and Brooks. Quite an
interesting book. Has lots of Crawford Co Names in it. They were taken from
the Guardian Bond and Oath Book AS from 14 Nov 1848-12 Aug 1852 and
Guardians Bonds, Oath and Letters No. 1 Probate from Aug 1852 - Apr 1896. I
am quite sure the book is still available.

There were BANTA in Mercer County, Kentucky. They migrated from New Jersey
into the York County , PA Conawego Dutch settlement and then went to Mercer
County. Some became Shakers, I believe.
Here is an outline I have for them. I was interested because I have reason
to believe my LUCAS came through York County, PA too. And Margaret EVERLY
who married Lambert BANTA was a sister to my Elizabeth "Betsy" EVERLY who
married Edmund BURKS in 1800. These branches can sure get tangled, can't

Hi Christi:
My RICE family came through Crawford County also so I'd be very interested
if you have any little tidbits of information! Some of the RICE family
stayed in Crawford County and others migrated to Knox County, Illinois.
Look forward to your reply.
Thanks so much!

Are you aware that there is an old book on the Banta family, that might be
available through Amazon, or some other sources of out-of-print books? There

Tom, I had placed three 4-inch binders placed in the English which, contained
my Stewart and associated family information in "family group sheets (FGS)
with notes" several years ago. Much of this information has been updated and
additional FGS added. I should probably provide the library with a GEDCOM file,
with the latest data, to place with these binders. That would enable
interested researchers to look at the data or copy the disk for their personal use.

Kathleen,
Sorry, didn't see the test message notice. I am so frustrated right now with this that I am about to scream. I have been on the phone with MSN off an on all morning trying to fix this.
