John, thanks for the info. Did you notice if those in Tippecanoe were born
in TN?
Thanks again,
Shirley
Would be grateful for info on family of Tinsel Miller family below. Was his
wife "May" or "Teckla"? Was he the child of Samuel Houston Miller & Martha
Harding? Was his brother Berlin MIller? Thanks.

If anyone has a cemetery book for Crawford County, would you please check for a burial for
Naomi (Ona) Oxley

&
Herman Oxley

Thank you,

James, I have the Ohio Township Cemeteries Book. It does not list any
Oxley's. Sorry.

Thank you so much for the census info. Ancestry.com's 1920 census search
engine did not show Tinsel. Maybe the transcriber couldn't make out the
name. Would have have any info on the Tensil Miller below? Odd to have 2
Millers with names like this in Indiana unless they refer back to a common
ancestor. Thanks again.

John,
I checked both the 1850 census and the 1860 census index and found no Gilpatricks in 1850 and only only a handful in Tippecanoe Co., IN in 1860. None in Crawford Co.
Jayne
Wondered if anyone had an 1850 and 1860 Crawford County Census who could
lookup the Surname Gilpatrick. I am looking for a Union soldier
Indiana Regiment
John M. Gilpatrick
pvt., 51st IN Infantry, Co.D,
d: May 10,1863, bur: Chattanooga
National Cemetery, Chattanooga,TN.
Thanks.
Shirley
I don't have a book, James. But, when we go back to Crawford Co. in a few
weeks, I will be glad to look in the death records for you.

Shirley --
I have Crawford Co. IN 1850 and 1860 census which I transcribed from
microfilm and published several years ago. There is no Gilpatrick listed in
Crawford Co. in 1850, 1860, and 1870 census.
In my research and listing all Civil War veterans who served from or lived
in Crawford Co., I have found only one Gilpatrick/Gillpatrick: Andrew
Gilpatrick/Gillpatrick served in Co. F, 144th Regt., Ind. Vol. He listed his
residence as Leavenworth, enrolled 6 Feb 1865 at Jeffersonville, mustered in
