Of course, this is not an exhaustive list of Maratha states. Some of the most prominent ones are left out, to whit
Gwalior - Scindia/ Shindhe
Baroda - Gaekwar
Indore - Holkar
Dewas Jr and Sr - Puar/ Pawar
I suppose they were left out because they fall into MP and Gujarat eh Akshay?

Dear all,
I had gone to Tigiria yesterday to meet my late fathers younger brother Raja
Brajraj Birabar Champati Kshatriya Singh Mahapatra of Tigiria, the last
Ruling Chief of Tigiria which was part of the erstwhile Eastern States

He is the only Ruler alive in Orissa wha had actually ruled and who had
signed the merger agreement with the Indian Government. I wonder whether he

A very happy new you to all of you.
Regarding the kolhapur jagirs, I would like to explain the situation a bit. The situation in kolhapur was a bit complex. Kolhapur was founded by chhatrapatis who then extended their control over the "old maratha families" . Interestingly, most of the maratha houses of ghatges, ghorpades, patankars etc... were very old compared to chhatrapatis who were almost "upstarts".
What has been refered to has Kolhapur jagirs were actually substates. Rather than mere jagirs, the s
There was ABSOLUTELY NO PRINCELY STATE by the name of Tadawale. Nor was there maratha family either ROYAL, PRINCELY, JAGIRDAR or INAMDAR by the name of Bhoite. I think this is a prank email.

The Kingdom of Jaffna came to an end in the 16th century, so its ludicrous to
think that there would still be a roayl family. His claim has been checked out
by Christopher Buyers (see alt.talk.royalty), where more details are given,
