Hello,
I've rencently traced back my Ghramm/Gram/Gramm line and yesterday I found a listing
in the 1850 Posey County Robb Twp for an Elias Gram. Unfortunately he is too young
to be the the father of my ancestor John Gram but it looks like he might be a brother
perhaps. The only county evidence that I have so far for John Gram is in Martin
County, Perry Twp for 1860, this is just after he was married in 1859 to Rachel Port
Hello,
I've been researching my mother's maiden for some time and I'm totally stuck. At the end of this message is an outline of what I have so far. I'm stuck because I think I've run into a name change some time between John Ghramm and his son Samuel Isaac Ghramm. I have a copy of Samuel's death certificate but it doesn't list any more details about his or his parents birth location other than Indiana. His mother's maiden name is unclear as well, it looks like Parker or Porter. I've looked in the Fed
I forgot the year. It's 1860.

Some of what your friend reports is true; some of it USED to be true. House

It might be helpful to check the surname Hamner. These families are in
Shelby Co., and Bartholomew Co., or were in the last 5yrs. They mostly
lived around or in Hope, In. Kanouse@bellsouth.net

Hi. I am new to the list and I was wondering if any one is researching the
Jeffries line in Indiana. Specifically, I am looking for Eliza Jane Jeffries
born in 1845 in Indiana. I don't know where. I do know that she showed up
on a census for Missouri:
1860 Census Missouri, Jasper County, Sarcoxie Twp, page 11, dwelling
106:
JEFFRIES, Toliver, 38, male, farmer, (real estate-600), born KY
--Mary J., 34, female, born ALA
--Nancy C., 14, female, born MO
--Martha W. T., 12, female, born MO
--John James, 1
Does anyone have experience searching probate records in Greene or Sullivan
Counties? I'd like to discuss your experience.
Also, in general, what court documents, if any, were recorded when a woman
died, and her husband was still living?
Thanks in advance. -- Kim in CO
