Could someone please help me. I have found on the Dubois USGENWEB page a couple of my husbands ancestors. John Temple(Tempel) and Margaret Fen(Fehn) were married in Dubois County on July 26, 1847. I think I have also found them on the 1850 census in Bainbridge Township. I am pretty sure they would have been Bavarian Catholic. Can someone tell me what Catholic Church would have been in that area in the 1840's & 1850's? Would it have been St. Joseph in Jasper?
Thanks for any help I'm trying to find out
Rob,
The St. Joseph Catholic Church records have been filmed by LDS. They are
available at the Indiana State Library (if you are local) - or I'm pretty
sure you can order the film thru a local LDS library.

Hi Judy,
I just happened to see your inquiry about the Tempel family. I compiled a
family history book about the Heeke's in 1991 - and many of the Tempel family
from Ferdinand, Dale and Siberia, Indiana are included as we are distantly
related.
The first indication of them is: Theresa Heeke (Dale, IN) married William
Charles Tempel, Oct. 21, 1919. William was born in 1895 and died in 1987.
If you get to a point where these people connect - I will be glad to share
the information from that poi
Does anyone know how to obtain records from St.
Joseph's Church - short of a road trip? -Rob

Where is Bainbridge Township in relation to Ferdenand (sp?)? There is a book about the church in Ferdenand, with a bunch of record listed in it.
