First off I would like to thank Lois Mauk for posting about the newspaper
article on Resurrecting cemeteries. It was very interesting to see this work
being done.
And, my question... I would like to try to locate someplace where I could
check the old newspapers archives for possible articles concerning my
grandfather back in the late 1800's. He lived in the area of Connersville,
IN. I've been searching for information on when, where, why, he changed his
name during this time period and I though
Hulda Peavey bn aft 1814, Rochester, NH died Indiana. She married Absalom
Webb, probably in Fayette IN. He was born 8 Feb 1814, Fayette, IN died
when?
Hulda may have married a Bates (according to Indiana marriage record
9-14-1843, Fayette Co her name was Bates) before marrying Absalom.
Known child is Aurilla Ann Webb, bn 5 Aug 1853, Connersville, Fayette Co In
died 7 Jun 1934 Brookfield, Linn Co MO maried on 15 Sep 1867 Doughlas
County IL to Thomas Joshua Morton.

Many thanks for posting the article about the fellow who works for Fayette
county restoring old tombstones and cemeteries. It's a model for other
counties to follow - nationwide.
Many of us outside IN would never such an occupation existed - and was being
put to such a good use.
