Everyone knows about the racist word the blacks hate so much -- now we find
that the word SQUAW is now also on the racist, "foul" list -- so much so
that they are even changing all names of towns and areas of the USA which
has this in it -- wonder what Squaw valley will become.........
In our genealogy research we oftentimes have to find old towns where names
have been changed -- so thought this would be of interest to ya'll

I had asked for a lookup for Sarah E. JOHNSON (WILLIAMS) FARRIS (d. 1872) in
any available cemetary records. If it would narrow things down I believe
they lived near Owensville.

I could truly use some help from someone who owns or has access to Gibson
Co., IN material. I am presently living in Ireland and have only the
internet.
I need page 769 Lewis JOHNSON family of the 1860 Gibson Co. census.
If anyone has cemetary records I would immensely appreciate a lookup of Sarah
JOHNSON (WILLIAMS) FARRIS who died in about 1872. She is buried in a small
cemetary somewhere in Gibson Co.
Thank you very much,

My great grandmother, Lydia Elizabeth SPENCER, was married to a Mr. HOPKINS
prior to her marriage to my great grand father, Barnett MORRISON. Lydia and
Mr. HOPKINS had two children. These were James Edgar HOPKINS who was born
22 January 1871, and a Marley HOPKINS who was born 10 March 1874 and died 14

I thought some of you interested in GIBSON COUNTY research/genealogy might
like to know about our forthcoming book, COBURN'S BRIGADE: 85TH INDIANA,
33RD INDIANA, 19TH MICHIGAN AND 22ND WISCONSIN IN THE WESTERN CIVIL WAR.
GIBSON COUNTY contributed greatly to the enlistment of the 33rd Indiana, and
Co. F was entirely recruited from GIBSON COUNTY. If you would like to read
more about COBURN'S BRIGADE, please go to
