Swayzee is near the Southeast corner of Grant County, about 10 miles,
southeast of Marion. It's on SR 13 if I remember right.

Iowa Cemetery records have just been listed on Ancestry.com on 10/24. Search
through the list of ALL databases until you come across the Iowa one. If you
have problems, I can try to help.

Seeking information regarding a Andrew Simpson who was residing in Marion,
Grant Co Indiana in 1912. Especially interested in his sister Ellen who
married a Thomas Jefferson Garrett prior to 1900 and lived in Wabash Co
Indiana. Thanks in advance.
It is me , Carmen, out in California and I am still looking for my
grandmother, Sarah Ellen Swayzee. She married Jacob Milliner in 1893. She
died about 1940.
Some one out there must have heard of her family as she had 10 red headed
sisters who must have lots of decendants. Some of the sisters were named
Hazel, Lillie, and probably Della Swayzee.
I would like to know the names of her parents and anything else I can learn
about her ancestors.
I was only 6 when she died but remember going to reunions in

Searching for the family Joseph Middlesworth, son of Joseph and Harriet Hamilton Middlesworth. Joseph was raised in the family of Jacob Bechtel in Pleasant Township. He was married first, 1860, to Susann Kern and second, 1872, to Sarah Barnes. He died 1920 and is buried in Maple Grove cemetery. Who were his children?

I'm trying to help a friend of mine look up her grand parents.
Either born or married in Grant County.
She doesn't have a time period but would say in the 1870's
the Name is Sarah Ellen Swazee she married Jacob Milliner.
If any one has heard or seen these names in the Grant County anywhere
please forward on to me personally.
Thank you

Thanks to Chris, Gilbert, Annette and others for helping to identify Cook's
Park found in an old photo I have. Chris, the post card of the "Casino at
Cooks Park" is the same buliding in my photo except that the lights are not
apparent. I suppose what I thought was a lake was actually Pegion Creek.
Now I need to indentify the young lady in the photo. Her name is written as
Ethel Traylor and information on the back of the photo says she is 17 and it
is dated as 1918.
My family line of Traylors are from arou
James Clawson enlisted in to the US Army in 1860 listed as a resident of
Grant CO. Indiana.
Does anyone have a census or know of this fellow? Need parents and any
other info.
Thanks so much,
Shirley Combs

Thanks for the replies.
Over the week-end I found a few things out concerning my Swayzee family.
They seem to be a different branch from most of the Swayzee's around Marion.
My great grandfather's name was Daniel Swayzee. He did have 11 daughters
although only 9 survived past childhood. The names of the girls were Sarah,
Lillie, Hazel,Della, Hattie, Myrtle, Emma and Carrie. One name is unknown.
Hazel Married Frank Druckemiller in 1908, Lillie married Dan O' Neal in
1893, Della married Calvin Hoppell in
Sheila,
