A plea to all the folks in Jasper and Newton County--Save those old photos!
Last year, Jasper County's unsung historian, Beulah Arnott, informed me that she
had come in possession of a packet of old tintypes of a family from Parr. Several
names appeared on a few of the photos. In a effort to connect them with living
descendants, I posted the following message in March on the county website:

feel that if we do not get the kids interested in the things that make up the
