I recently purchased the book 'Pre-1882 Indiana births from Secondary Sources' by Dawne Slater-Putt. I would be happy to do look-ups.

Hi Listers:
I'm still working on my Dean research. I recently learned that John Dean, b.
1781 in INY married to Mary Ann b. 1793 in England, had 4 children. I only
know of 3.
1) Agnes b. 1820 married John W. Shipley
2) A.C. Dean (Archibald) b. 1822 married Josephine Ritchie
3) Mary Ann Dean b. 1835 married John Ritchie
I located a Francis Dean married to Christian Bucher. She would be the right
age and born in OH which would be OK.
Anyone out there know of this family?
Thanks,
Karen

William B. McDonald of Saluda Township, Jefferson Co. named 2 of his sons,
John.
John R. born about 1832 and John W. born about 1838 in Jefferson Co. Ind.
Marraige records show John R. married Martha McCavin, 2/23/1854.
Marraige records also list 2 Johns being married. One John married Martha
Williams, 5/6/8152. The other John married Margaret O'Connell, 1/6/1856.
Are either of these Johns the John W. son of William B. McDonald of Saluda
Township.
Thanks for any help,
Dinah McDonald
I am working on my wife's family tree whose surname is Wood. The Wood
family came west from Henry County near New Castle. I can't seem to find
anyone from that area to help me. I know that the Wood farm still stands,
but most of the information that I have is over 2yrs old.
Can anyone help me or send me in the right direction.
Thank you & God Bless

I was surprised to see that the Wirt Post Office only operated for 4 1/2
years as my Grandmother Florence Marshall Tudor Ward, born 10 Sept. 1894
always showed Wirt as her place of birth although her Marshall family all
lived in Smyrna Township north of Volga. I assumed that she used the Wirt
address because that is where she got her mail. I may need to do some
rethinking.

Karen posted a query about John Dean b. 1781. I do not have information on
this family but do have a John M. Dean who married Thursey Ann "Tirsa" Hutson
5 May 1838. A resident of Ripley Co. [next door to Jefferson Co.] Hope this
is of value. I have further information on this Hutson line, but none on
John M. Dean.

Thanks. I go to this cemetery as least once a year. (Florida & Okey
Tevis were my great grandparents.) I did notice that there is at least
one name missing.
Roscoe Rutledge was probably the last burial there, and was buried
within the last 25 years. His stone is on the far left in the cemetery,
about halfway down.
The Rutledge listed is not the same. Roscoe was alive during my
lifetime. He ran over my dog in 1969 :(
Still, when I go down there, I put a flag on his grave and on the graves
