4. RE: [INLAKE] New to list [1]
At the link below for the newspaper's listings through the Hammond Library, http://www.hammond.lib.in.us/obits.htm I found a listing in 1951 for a Daniel Carlan, age 69, whose obit appeared in the August 5th paper on page 12. No Dennis from 1943 to 1946, though. If you check out the pages at this site, you will see how to request a copy of the library to be mailed to you if you are not in the area. Check out "the" Catholic Cemetery? There are many ! Nancy -----Original Message----- From: AnneyCa

11. [INLAKE] Sanitarium [1]
Hi List, Does anyone know where there was a TB Sanitarium in the 1930-40's in Lake County? And where you might find the records for it now? Thanks for your help. Sandra
12. Re: [INLAKE] Sanitarium [1]
Sandra, the TB Hospital was in Crown Point on 93rd Ave. just West of Main Street (Hway 55)., on the North edge of the city. I believe it was run by the county, just as the nursing home was. Perhaps the Lake County Health Dept has records, I'm not sure. ----- Original Message ----- From: "SANDRA PRICE" To: Sent: Tuesday, October 10, 2000 8:07 PM Subject: [INLAKE] Sanitarium > Hi List, > > Does anyone know where there was a TB Sanitarium in the 1930-40's in > Lake C

17. Re: [INLAKE] Anders [1]
Kitt, I checked a 1962 phone book(City Dir) for Gary and found Deodson H. and Robbie M. Anders living at 1524 Massachusetts. I then checked the cemetery book for Oak Hill Cemetery at 45th and Harrison in Gary and found a Deadom Anders 1921-1976 Tec 5 US Army WWII. but no Robbie. I find a Roberta Anders in Soc. Sec. born 1921 died 1995 in Ohio. Could this be her?? I would check the paper in 1976 but there's no index. If someone could come up with a month, I'll read the whole month. ----- Original Message

Thanks to Chris, Gilbert, Annette and others for helping to identify Cook's Park found in an old photo I have. Chris, the post card of the "Casino at Cooks Park" is the same buliding in my photo except that the lights are not apparent. I suppose what I thought was a lake was actually Pegion Creek. Now I need to indentify the young lady in the photo. Her name is written as Ethel Traylor and information on the back of the photo says she is 17 and it is dated as 1918. My family line of Traylors are from arou
