I am searching for information on Erastus Payn (Payne) who died abt 15 January 1850 and is buried in the Door Village Cemetery, LaPorte County, Indiana. Age at death was 58 years, 1 month, and 28 days. He is buried next to my ggg-grand mother, Eliza A. (Payne) Cole. Their relationship is unknown to me. Hi List, I have always known that my great-grandmother Bess C. Harlow was the matron at the Ruth C. Sabin Home at 1603 Michigan Ave. in the late 1920's and into the 1930's. I assumed that meant she was kind of like the "house mother." However, when I accessed the 1930 census, it shows her as matron, that the house was OWNED, and that the value was $70,000.00. Does this necessarily mean that SHE owned it?? Or does it mean that the house "was owned" by SOMEONE-- not necessarily her. Can anyone with a

Hello List, Can someone tell me which enumeration district 1710 Michigan ave (and the nearby Ruth Sabin Home also) would be in for the 1930 census. Was it 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7?? I have actually browsed through all of the districts using my ancestry.com subscription looking for that block, but it has taken me days because the loading time for the 1930 is sooooooooo LONNNNNNNNNNNNG even with a cable modem and I just can't seem to locate it.
