I hope the answers to your questions are posted to the "whole" list so maybe
all of us can get this family straightened out.......they are all part of
the same family, that's for sure, but it's our misfortune they all named
their kids after their Grandpa, brother, sister, etc.!!!!!!
I have some old Gedcoms that DOUGHERTY people have sent me....I'll have to
check them out and see what I come up with.
Have errands to run now!

Hi
Does any one have access to the Green Hill Cemetery Book?
I'm looking for three names and dates.
Benjamin and wife Kitty or Kittie Mclaughlin
daughter Edna Wilking (wife of Lester Wilking)
Thanks,

There are likely several books printed over the years. The Lawrence Co. Historical & Genealogical Soc. published a history of just Lawrence Co. for the years 1818-1990. That one may still be available to buy through the Society. In 1884 Goodspeed Brothers published a History of Lawrence, Orange and Washington Counties. You might want to check the Indiana GenWeb county pages for further information.

Am interested in a lookup for the burial of Ida Bell Cassady, (or Cassidy) who died Nov 1, 1970 and I think is buried in Green Hill Cem in Bedford. Also interested in her husband, Henry Cassady (or Cassidy) who died March 15, 1943 or 42 in either Lawrence Co., or Indianapolis, most likely also buried in Green Hill cem. Am interested mostly in finding where they were born if at all possible. Also, if there were any other Cassadys or Cassidys buried there.
Thanks

The History of Lawrence County by James Guthrie is the one sold by the LCHGS
and I'm sure it is available from the Bedford Public Library through
inter-library loan. The other two - GoodSpeeds History of Lawrence, Orange
and Washington Counties and the History of Lawrence and Monroe County can be
found at the library but are in the "do not circulate" category.

Robert isn't mentioned in the entry for Isaiah & Sarah, but there is a
Robert listed on pgs. 22, 25, 26, 34, 46, 77.
On pg. 22...
"Probably the second grist-mill in the county that was operated by
water-power was situated on Indian Creek, a short distance above the place
where Craig's Mill now stands on that stream. This was in operation as
early as 1818, and was owned by Robert Dougherty, who in a year or so sold
to a man named Bowers."
On pg. 25...
Under the heading of Shawswick Township...

Mary Lou,
They are two different books. The one is the History of Lawrence and Monroe
Counties of Indiana. I have never seen a book on the History of Orange
County. You should be able to get them thru an interlibrary loan. I know I
got the History of Lawrence and Monroe Counties of Indiana that way earlier
this year.

Mary Lou,
If someone on the list has a complete copy of the Lawrence Co. IN history 1818-1990, there might be some info on your Robert in the entry for Isaiah & Sarah Dougherty. I have only the first part of that page - #208 - which doesn't mention their children. It continues on pg 209 which I don't have.
