Does anyone know where a FLING ROAD was located in Marion County, Indiana in
1920? Going by the census record, there is a Church Street and National
Road before and after Fling Road entry. There are also only THREE entries
on Fling Road on this particular page.
Thanks!
Vicki

Good for Nancy! She found it! I know you're interested in the Germania Street, but since this little history of the Library revealed where Germania St. was, I want to add a "side bit" to it. At this moment, a big sign is on the N.W. corner of S.Belmont and W. Michigan St. which reads, "Coming - a new Haughville Library."

Looking for information on a Beverly Young (male) who married Nannie Hayden
8-8-1892. I imagine his parents were on 1880 census and I saw that is
viewable, but is there an index?
There were a lot of Youngs in the county then. I have traced back to a
migration from Ky in early 1830's. Any information on any Youngs from Marion
would be appreciated.

It is rumored that James and Mary Bankson (touring actors at the turn of the century) were somehow related to Addison Phillips son of Emeline Coatney born March 22, 1825 and John Thomas Phillips. I am looking for any information on this couple. Don Coatney

There was not a Coatney in the Manual book. There are over 200 by name of Johnson, so if you could give a name, perhaps I could find it. There are 12 Wells who graduated after 1935.

Is there anyone in this book by the name of Coatney, Johnson,

Hi Suzanne:
I checked my web page list of early settlers and original land owners and
didn't find anything. I believe the first city directory was in 1858.

Good Morning:
There has been talk on this list discussing the problems in obtaining vital
records and the difference in requirements to obtain them. I thought you
might like to see what Kentucky is planning to do with their vital records.
This is really going to be a setback for genealogists if this bill is
passed. If you have ancestors from Kentucky, and I think most of us do,
this is going to affect us all. Ramona sent this out on the KY Feuds list
this morning:

Looking for any information on Annie Thomas nee Spurgeon. Annie married Pete Thomas and they lived in Nobelsville, Indiana. Later they divorced. Annie moved to Indianapolis with her two children Grace and Fred Thomas. I believe this was about 1915 or so. Annie, her children, and her mother Alvina Spurgeon operated a boarding house somewhere in Indianapolis. If anyone has any information on these people I would like to hear from you. Thanks, Don Coatney
Attached to photocopy of our Ancestor's marriage license is the partial

Hope this helps someone.

Hello List,
We just received the Marriage License from Marion County, for who we believe
to be our GGGrandparents.
The year is 1853. The paper is very dark. It is signed by the Clerk of the
Circuit Court and under that it is signed by "I, the undersigned, Priest of
the Catholic Church" etc. His signature looks something like DAVID
DELATORY...this may be a stretch, however, I have every confidence that
someone on this list has seen this name before and can help decipher. We

I know this isn't what you are asking but in the 1889 Atlas of Indianapolis,
H. Mueller was in the 8th Ward, just West of Highland Avenue and South of
Miami Street, that's about three blocks south of Vermont Avenue, just south
of Allen & Johnson and just north of Dickson Place.
BINGO, I JUST FOUND IT AT THE FOLLOWING URL:

Here is an excerpt:

Dear Lora,
Some months ago you looked up Konrad marriages for me. Included was the
marriage of my Grandparents, John Robert Konrad and Katharina ( Katie )
Mootz. You listed the document number 26 675 4084 and the date of 23
July 1895. . Previously I had a volunteer living in Marion County Indiana

I recently wrote asking for copies of the Marriage Application and/or
marriage license and received the folowing reply: " I checked from

Rose,
I have sent you a map of the area. I really don't have any information of
Germainia Street. I will have to do some further checking on that.
I hope that the map helps you.
