Hi All:
The surnames that I am researching in Marshall County are:
Miller (Muller) and Kinzie (Kunzi)
Gideon and Margaret Kinzie Miller immigrated to the USA from Switzerland in
1847. They first settled in Canada and then Ohio before moving to Marshall
County about 1854. Maraget's parents, brothers and sisters and her Uncle
and family moved with them.

One of the other mailing lists I subscribe to asked for a "roll call" of surnames everyone on the list was researching. It made me think it might be a good idea to do the same for the other mailings lists I subscribe to.
So, here are the surnames I'm researching in Marshall County: DEVENY, WILLIAMS, THOMPSON, MARTIN, LONG, ROOSE, YAZEL, HEALY.
I have the most information on the DeVeny line, but would welcome hearing from anyone who is researching any of the other surnames.
My e-mail address is: depaol
James ANDERSON and Rebecca WALLACE are grandparents of Patrick BLACKFORD,
my father, who was born in St Joseph Co. His mother, Mary Melissa ANDERSON,
was born in Marshall Co and married David Ellsworth BLACKFORD in New
Carlisle, St Joseph Co in 1895. Other surnames derived from parents of my
father's uncle Emmanuel ANDERSON's wife, Flora GLINGLE.

There was a Doctor Melvin G. Yokum, said to be one of Mentone's most
beloved doctors. This is a single-line entry in the Mentone Centennial
book, 1882-1982. My mother, as I recall, worked in his office for a short
period in the 1930s. You may want to also check Fulton and Kosciusko
Counties since Mentone is near the border of all three counties. All three
counties have web sites and query boards. There are twelve researchers
listed on the Rootsweb Surname
List. http://www.rootsweb.com/~inkosciu

Listers,
This is not a spam or sales note.
For those of us who do real, and costly research. We know that in the 1800s
county lines were of no matter, and our kin crossed them daily.
So I address my inquiry and findings to the counties I am researching.
Recntly, I bought a book from 1897 "Poems and Sketches" (of Wayne County) by
Geo. WEmswiler
Although there is no index; It has lists of ocupants of the older
cemeteries;
