What I was told is happening is that the header is in error. We belong to
the Perry County list. E-mails to our list go to the people signed up for
Perry County, but the subject line says INGIBSON. I recommend ignoring it.
Sooner or later someone at Rootsweb will fix it. Meanwhile Perry County
subscribers are getting the messages.

I'm looking for Uriah Cummings, died Feb 1 1904- I need to prove that
his father is Uriah Cummings for a sponsoree's SAR application. Will
his death certificate do that (I found the citation on Ancestry & he is
in the process of obtaining it, but if that won't help, I'd like to
change course quickly). The patriot ancestor to be used is James
Lanman, although others are possible.

Not that I can find. It is not in the INGibson email list archives and
its not on either INGibson message board nor the INPerry message board.
Your initial email to this list did have a number of extra email
addresses in a second "to" line and it also had several email addresses
in "cc" list. INGibson was not one of those addresses. KYDavies was
and it has not yet shown up there.
I am subscribed to Perry County list. I am still getting things saying they
are the Gibson County list, although the message relates to Perry county.
Are the two lists combined?

Hi Linda,
No, the lists aren't combined. I wanted the list, as I am the
coordinator for Perry county, but someone else got it. I have no
idea who the coordinator is. So, it is possible the coordinator has
both lists.
I have an e-mail group for Perry county, if anyone is still
interested. You can subscribe here -
Perrycountyindiana-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
It is a quiet group right now, but is still active.

(ISTG) Immigrant Ships Transcribers Guild. Interesting site. It's a list
of immigrant ships, Captains, ports of arrival, ports of departure, etc. It
starts in the 1600's.
Actually, folks, nothing is being misdirected nor is it being
cross-posted to other lists. If you look at the headers (view message
source), you will see that the emails are going to and coming from
"inperry@rootsweb.com". The problem is that when the subject line is
tacked on to the emails going out from the server, the name of the list
is incorrect in the line that server uses to write the subject line.
That is all that there is to it. The list admin probably can fix it or
he/she can contact th

It seems to me when I post a message to any list on rootsweb, if a county is
mentioned in the body of the message, it gets underscored. There is
somewhere on the message that says send to all lists mentioned in message,
or something similar. Maybe that is why emails/posts are getting sent other
places. Just a guess. I, too, have received several misdirected emails
meant for this same other list. I'm not a member of that other list either.
