I have some photo albums of my great aunts and great grandparents from the
Fremont area that have a "Tillotson" in them. My great aunts were: Agnes
McCuin and Elizabeth (McCuin) Shively (both died around 1940). My great
grandparents were Robert and Nancy (Maxwell) McCuin, originally from County
Antrim, Northern Ireland (came to Fremont around 1860).

Kathy,
You may purchase the Steuben County Cemetery books by contacting the
Steuben County Genealogical Society. They are selling them for the
Historical Society. The address to contact is on the website. The last
time I knew, they were $50 a set plus shipping, but that may have
changed. They only have the cemetery books and the Original Landowners
books for sale.

Hi List,
In two weeks, my dad and I will be going to the Allen County Public Libary in Ft. Wayne, IN - the second largest place for genealogy records in the U.S. Just to let you know I will take requests to do a lookup for either census, death index, birth index, or marriage index. I will, however, request a contribution to defray costs of copies and postage. Please include the county and state; I am on more than one mailing list. Thanks.

Susie is Susan Caswell, she first married her 1st cousin Ulysses Caswell. I
didn't know about the 2nd marriage to ? Tilford.
I knew she had to be buried somewhere in the area, but had looked for her
for a long time with no luck.
You have helped me several times and I am truely grateful for your continued
efforts on my behalf.

Kathy,
The [Scott, maiden name] of the woman listed in the book. The
additional information regarding d/o, s/o, etc. are from other sources
than the tombstone. This particular entry looks as if it was written on
the stone so you'll have to take it from there.
My aunt knew Mrs. Lewis and said that she spent years getting this data
then incorporated it into the 2 volumes of the cemeteries.
Let me know if I can be of more help.

Can anyone look up the name TRECARTEN in any Steuben Co., cemetery books you
may have.
I am looking for a Cassius TRECARTEN
who married a Susan CASWELL
after 1910
Susan was born in 1874, her full name was Susan Evangeline Caswell.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Kathy
Joey,
Can you tell me if the cemetery book has the entry for Susie
as Susie S. (Scott) entered that way as if it is that way on the stone? Or
is some of it hand written?
Are the names of her husbands typed in as well or hand written?
Susie was
Susan Evangeline Caswell
1st married Ulysses Grant Caswell
the Scott seems to imply that there was yet another marriage in addition to
the three the cemetery book list.

The only one I see listed on the web site is "original land owners".

would love to have the cemetery books myself if they are available.
I have the 1885 History of Steuben Co. if anyone needs a lookup.
