Dear List,
Maybe someone has some ideas for me.
I am trying to find my gg gf's place of birth. I know that Ira HUTCHINSON,

Switerland Cty. along with her infant daughter prior to 1850 because she
is living in Posey Township, Switzerland Cty., with Philadelpha Bowman
and another family when the census was taken in 1850. Later Sybil is in

There were ferries at Ghent and Warsaw that shut down when the Markland Dam
opened. It essentially cut off an 170-year relationship between Ghent and
Vevay.
I received a message saying the Vevay school teacher who was gathering info
on ferries was actually Ginny Reeves, a librarian at the Switzerland County
High School.
That's all I know about it. I don't know if she completed her project or
published or any more about it.
Good Luck,
Bill Davis

Anyone have a name and, hopefully, an e-mail address for a member of the

Thanks.

While I do not have the specific persons mentioned in Switzerland
County, I do have Dora Miller (b. 1847) m. Charlie Eichler Sr; George
Miller, m. Elizabeth E. Keith (b. circa 1840); Mary Parker (b. 1849),
m. John Arnold Keith; Abram Peters m. Sarah Scott (b.circa 1815).
Being quite a small area at that time I thought some of these people

assistance please let me know.

Mr. Davis, back on 6-23-01 you responded to a question, on the
INSWITZE-L@rootsweb site, Vol. 1 Issue 21, from Philip Naff, concerning
ferries that cross the Ohio at Vevey/Ghent. My mother's father lived in
Florence, IN, across from Warsaw and my family rode the ferry across many
time when I was a child. Also, remember when the the ferry was shut down
after the Markland Dam was completed. I enjoyed those rides across the
river as much as visiting with my grand-father, Willie Wiechert and his

make sure she gets it.
