I'm researching a Hutchison family that might have come from Switzerland Co, IN in the 1800s. While digging for clues about my ggg-grandfather Joseph Hutchison (b. Jul 1841, Shelby Co., IN, d. abt 12 Mar 1905 or 1906, Barton Co., MO, m. I'm New to your list. These are both my direct Ancestors. John M. Straughn and Anna Hisel(Heisel) or Hysel I'm trying to find who their parents or siblings were. Can anyone help? I believe both of their parents and Siblings may have been from Switzerland County, Ind. Looking at 1850 Census in Switzerland County, Ind. index reveals that Straughn's and Hisal's in County. I have been looking for the parents of Clarke ANDREWS who was born in OH in 1805. He died in 1845 but there are 2 ANDREWS on the 1880 census who were born in OH who might be related. Sequida married George Washington ENGLISH on Sept. 11, 1837 in Switzerland County. He was my ggggrandfather and we descend from his second wife Elizabeth KEITH. I don't think I posted these to the list before, if so excuse the duplication. Sometimes I think this David Bosaw i am looking for is a figment of my imagination but here are some obits that have his name and my family history in them, and I have found him inthe 1860 census of Switzerland Co with family (father Joseph Bosso -- was Bosaw in 1850) and in 1900 in Posey Co. with what I feel is 2nd wife. The 1852 and 1868 minutes for the Southeastern Indiana Conference shows contributions from the following churches in what was then the Mt. Sterling Circuit. Does anybody know where these were, were they full churches or missions, and anything about when they existed? Harrison, Centre, New Hope,Hebron The 1852 minute show list New Hope as a meeting house and Harrison as a school house Centre and Hebron do not appear in the 1852 minutes.
