Dear list members,
We are interested in learning of the location of any manuscript
church records which may exist for Primitive Baptist churches in Indiana
(as well as other states). If any of you know of any, please let me
know. We are trying to preserve them, film them, extract names of
members from them, and then write histories of the churches and name the
surnames of the members, on our website, which will be a tool for family
history researchers as well as church history researchers. We have

My mother is a Dickerson (her maiden name) from Terre Haute, IN. Since I've
done very little work on the Dickerson side of my family, I don't know if
this Walter Dickerson is my kin or not. I'm saving the info so that someday
I'll know if this is part of my family buried on the farm.

The Seelyville Dickerson's also may very well be my kin. My mother was born
in Seelyville in May 1927. My great-grandmother, Ellen Martin, also lived
there. Where she was born or even her maiden name is unknown to me as of
yet. One of these days.... lol

Mary Ann, Hi. I am home again but for how long who knows. My mother in law
took a whole weeks medicine in one day and had to be rushed back to the
hospital and have her stomach pumped. Now we have her in an Assisted living
home, the only problem is she is 3 hours away from us and now of course
excepts us to be their every day. Oh well, we will get through this also.
Haven't have time to get the stuff together to send you yet but I can give
you some information on David Marion Sterling, and according

I'm a "Kester-Welch" from the book also, through John Welch and Mary A.
Kester's daughter, Ruhama Welch. How are you connected?

Amy, do you have a listing for Daniel Warren in 1870? I can't seem to
find a census where his wife was listed. She left him before 1880 (which
I have) with two children, Sarah and Mary. Thanks very much if you do in
advance. Peggy
Here's a name for your list: Rose Josephine Dickerson, daughter of George
Dickerson and Mary Durham. Rose was born 1859 at Vigo county, IN and died 07
Mar 1928 at Terre Haute, Vigo county, IN. She married Watson G. McComb 28
Jan 1881 at Clark county, IL. Watson McComb was a train master for the Terre
Haute Electric Traction Co. She had a brother George Dickerson who lived at
Columbus IN. She had 2 sons, Jesse E. McComb and Harold McComb. I have her
obit if you want email me

Vigo County Library is located on the west side of South Seventh Street
between Walnut and Poplar Streets in Terre Haute. They also have a web site
however I don't have the address. Perhaps someone else could help on this.

Hi:
I am a first timer to your list and need some help, of course.
I am searching for ANY information on Peter Petershack (Paterchak), DOB Oct. 17, 1907 in Terre Haute....
Parents were Louis Petercsak and Anna Chercko...........
Also for Michael Joe Patercsak DOB Sept. 29, 1910 in Terre Haute....
Parents were Michael Patercsak and Elizibeth Koretz......
Peter was a brother to my father-in-law and I just recently obtained a SS-5 application for Michael Joe and found that they were born in the same plac
I forgot to say in the last e-mail that all previously submitted queries,
bios, obits etc are present on the new message board.
One advantage of the new board is that you don't have to worry about where
you're posting something. When you post, you should click the subject of
what you're posting (query, obit, bio etc).
Would anyone like to share their opinion of the new board??

I have a copy of the Pound-Kester book. I'm a Kester descendant also. The Pounds & Kesters married here in Vigo county. I have quite a bit on the Kesters. Maybe we could exchange info ? How are you related to the Kesters ? Maybe we're cousins.

Amy,
In the 1860 census he was household 190 in Sugar Creek. In 1880 he is shown
on page 10,household 90. Sugar Creek. He has his new wife's family living
there also, the Smith's. The reason 1860 is important is Michael remarried
in 1868 but I don't know when his first wife, my gg-grandmother died. I'm
anxious to see who was listed with him in 1860.
Anything will help.
Thanks,
Steve Haag
