Have just made my first Pensear purchase. I found the site a bit vague in
doing this. Couldn't work out how to get back to the purchase page when I'd
finished without clicking on another purchase and then cancelling it. I also
presume that the information is going to be snail mailed to me. I couldn't
find anywhere on the site that explained that either, so I just sit back and
wait.
Anyone else made purchase?
Cheers

THE ARMY
The Marquis of Waterford has written to Sir Edward Blakeney, Commander of

be removed to England, as was intended, but be allowed to remain during the
summer.
The Board of Ordnance have sent a cargo of new cannon (18 and 20 pounders)
from Woolwich to Duncannon fort, to replace George the 2d's cannon which
protects the fort.

WRECKS ALONG THE COAST
As was generally anticipated, the gale of Wednesday morning occasioned a
fearful loss of life and property on every point of the coast. A storm more
destructive in its consequences has not visited this country for many years, and
the accounts which have been received furnish a sad and numerous list of fatal
disasters.
The Western coast suffered to a great extent, and it is to be feared that

Do you have any mention of FORDE (George, William, Samuel, Robert, Thomas,
Richard, Henry), REID (John, Thomas, William, Elizabeth, Mary Ann, Henry,
Richard or others!) or DOODY (John, Daniel, Richard) all from County Cork?
I would be *SO* grateful for some clues as to their whereabouts. It is so
kind of you to take the time and trouble.
best wishes,

OH Pat, what a wonderful offer!
Now you KNOW who I'm going to ask for. hehehehe
Felix DOYLE & Martin Patrick DOYLE
It's my guess that Felix came first, then Martin Patrick, so Martin
would probably be looking for Felix.
According to the 1900 census Martin emigrated in 1855, and his future
wife Ellen came in 1856. Unfortunately I don't have her surname.
Thanks so much, Pat!! :)

Dear Listers,
Will someone with access to Philadelphia City Directories please look up

TULLA GAEL's DEATH
Mr. P. Rogers
The death of Mr. Paddy Rogers, at the early age of 27 years caused deep
regret in the Tulla area last week, and above all among the Gaels, with whom he was
general favourite. His passing in the prime of manhood is particularly sad.
Son of the famous John Rogers, of 1914 fame, Paddy was also an able exponent
with caman, and up to a few years ago was one of the leading hurlers in the
parish.
At his funeral on Sunday last, which wa
