It probably did say that, but after signing up for the "one month", I
could no longer find any information on the site regarding the need to
cancel. I think it is deceiving to say you are signing up for one
month, but unless you call and cancel, it will be continued. What is
happening is that you sign up and it is up to you to cancel when you no
longer want the service. If you want it for a month, you have to
remember the date you signed up and call and cancel by that date. If you
are one day late
Can we also ask if the Kings County LDS library does inter-library loans?

The Family History Library has a set of 170 microfilms titled _Master card file index to Kings County, New York probate records, 1789-1971_. They're arranged alphabetically by surname. For example, the film number for surnames between S and Saluzzi is 541738.
Has anyone had experience with these films?
Do they give identification information for probate files/packets?
Would that info. be sufficient to avoid the large search fee?

Friends,
The response to the GenealogyBank free access offer has been huge.
Despite our planning for higher demand from the free access, the
response to the offer was so
overwhelming that we had to disable that login/password.
I will be back in touch with you as I meet with the staff tomorrow

If you can match up the death records on Italian Genealogical Group's
website, they have the death cert #s listed for each individual.

I haven't personally used these particular films, so I don't know what
information they contain.
You can get access to these films through your local LDS center.

Input, at least, United Stated and North Carolina. (or another state)
I got about 45 centers listed in various parts of the state.
Since the centers are operated by volunteers, call before

I am clicking on Login, then using promotion@genealogybank.com as my email.
Then using GenBank4U as password.
The response from the website is that the account is inactive.
I've tried a lower case password, and I've tried using the entire line
listed below. No luck. Could you clarify what portion of the below from
the original message is the correct login and password for the free trial?

While it worked last night, and early this AM, it's not working now.
In fact, you get a message ...."inactive account" which means the
account was closed to prevent more logins. (?)
One posting I found confirming this problem is on DearMYRTLE today.

Hi,
I am new to the list and think I probably have some relatives in the NYC
area. For years I have been searching for information on my great-grandfather,
Patrick MARTIN who came to the Pittsburgh area around 1881. He married Delia
LYNCH here in 1888. By the 1900 census he had passed away and I can't even
locate his burial place, although his daughter once told me it was in the
Pittsburgh area.
Today I found on Ancestry.com a death certificate #3559 for NYC deaths
1892-1902. The age (37)

I keep getting Inactive account when using the email and password given.
I have had great success with Genealogy Bank, especially with the Historical Newspapers.
As Mary Ann writes, you must cancel if you are through for the month, then resubscribe later months if you want to see what has been added.
I have not has any unauthorized charges.

Hi List,
I am in need of help in getting the right cert.#'s on a few death
records. I sent to SLC and gave them the numbers I got from the Cemetery
Office, they said they are wrong. If anyone is going to a Family Histroy
Center would you please help identify my records. I do not live near a
Center. If anyone knows if the SLC does searchs let me know.
Thanking you in advance. Marge
Wrdsrus,
I hate to be vague, but it depends on the center.
Each center is in the 'complex' for that local LDS community.
Depending on its size, the amount of equipment they have may vary greatly.
I've visited 4 locations. One, in NYC, was big and had lots of 'stuff'.
Three in NJ varied. Two were what I would call medium, and one quite small.
Some places have at least one film viewer with printer capabilities to
make hard copies.
The small one I visited did not. The options there were to
write/transcrib
Do they have the ability to copy the films onto paper so you can have a
record of the info?

Hi Florence,
Thank you so much for offering. Last night I got a email from a fellow
in NJ, he did go to FHC today. He was able to find two. then another
list member directed me to the Brooklyn Genealogy page online, which I
have used but did not realize they have some Cert. #'s. I got the other
two from that page. So I am all set, i got my form off to Utah late
today.
I think this list is great. I can't wai until I can help someone. Again,
thanks, I appreciate it.

This list has had a lot of interest in the "Genealogy Bank" web site, so
I thought I would pass along a problem I am having with them.
I subscribed to the "Genealogy Bank" web site for one month - December.
It was billed against my credit card, but then I found that they billed
my credit card again in January. I plan to follow up on this but only
realized the double billing today.
I suggest that anyone who already has subscribed to the Genealogy Bank

Hello,
I am researching a family who lived in the Greenwich Village area of
Manhattan. They were second generation Irish Americans. The mother
of this family died in 1927. Was wondering if there were any likely
newspapers to check for a possible obituary or death notice for that
time period? Perhaps even a Catholic newspaper?
Thanks for any help.
Richard P.
What are the surnames you're researching?
