Wow neat. I tried it anyway as I am on a laptop and it worked. I am
running Windows XP, so I don't know if that made the difference but your
directions do work on my laptop.

Sorry, I don't remember the citation for the article about the O'Neills of

It was within the last 20 years, I am fairly sure. Big help, huh?

Hi Gail--unfortunately, I know nothing more about the O'Neil folks than what
was in my query. Please contact me again if you think our folks cross paths.

Sean,
For general location of townlands (not ships - that sounds like U.S. midwest
),
I would recommend the Discovery Series of OSI maps. In this case, both
townlands are shown on map 61. Kilcarrig directly abuts the town of Bagenalstown

Dear Jo,
You may want to google the following:
Clonegal weavers
You will get about 160+ hits. Clonegal restored two cottages that were
built, specifically for weavers to occupy, by the owners of Huntington Castle, the
Durdans, in 1690.
Perhaps someone associated with that enterprise, now a small and warm tourist
site, will have information on the local weavers of your era?

Kathleen,
Knockrobin is in Rathnew civil parish, and is located immediately east of
Rathnew town, between it and Broad Lough - and just a mile NNW of Wicklow town.
There is an even smaller extension of Knockrobin, called Knockrobin Murragh
(17 acres, sort of a Knockrobin-by-the-Sea), which is on the narrow spit of land
which separates Broad Lough from the sea.

I found quite a few Nolans in Clonegal but didn't find a Jeremiah Joseph,
Edward (Ned) or Christopher. Sorry. I don't know where else to tell you to
look for it. I came by the book on Clonegal when my sister kindly gave me a
copy she purchased when visiting Clonegal last year.

couple of questions about the above gravestone. Is the "Native of N..al
Mullane" part of the inscription, on a single line? Does the "N..al" represent the
word with two apparent unreadable letter
