1. [IRL-CARLOW] MARY BYRNE [1]
Hi Judith, My g.g.grandmother, Mary Moore, died in Australia in 1897 aged 65 yrs. Her death cert. says that she was Mary Byrne, father John Byrne, mother 'not known' and born Co. Carlow. Not much to go on! Just as an added confusion, it was claimed that she was married at Birkenhead, England, but on her husband's cert. in 1878 it claimed that he was married to Mary Byrne in Dublin! Ho Hum!!.............Judy/Perth. W. Australia

3. [IRL-CARLOW] Poor law records [1]
Has anyone seen any poor law records? I think that my Mary O'CONNOR of Bagnelastown and Ballyellen will be in there somewhere as family lore says she was the only survivor of a large family during the famine days and she came out to Australia without family at the age of 13 about 1857 so she was probably one of those unfortunate children who ended up in the Workhouse.
