Susie, if you happen to see any Mannering gravesites would you be so kind as
to copy info from them and send them on to me? My grandfather's family is
from Ballon. I will only have a couple of hours there in early October--not
nearly enough time for research. I would be so appreciative. Thanks Joan
Thanks for the reply. Question....Is there now a Simon Cummins living in Inch. The Cummins were RC and were educated. Simon Cummins, son of Matthew Cummins was a founder of Johnville, NB, His uncle was a RC priest.

Hi from Australia and the wonderful Olympics! Is anybody able to access information on the Finn family formerly of Kilcoltrim near Borris? I need to find the birth date in the 1860's of Martin Finn, son of Thomas Joseph and Catherine and his other siblings. Our family has just located him in Baltimore National Cemetery where he was interred in 1943, but have no other info after his emigration to America and their own emigration to Australia shortly after. My Dad is 81 and his nephew and would like some news

Hello Maureen and other Listers
Have just been out and just picked up a copy of "NetGuide" (Australian
Publication - ISBN 1440 5520) and the current issue happens to have the
first of a 2 part series about tracing your family tree online. (Next issue
18 October)
It lists the following websites, some of which I haven't visited so I can't
say where they will lead, but I'll be visiting a couple tonight (if I can

Hi everyone
This is my first posting to this list and I am looking for anyone who may be
researching or is in possession of any information or records of local men
from Carlow and the Southern end of Co.Laois such as Ballickmoyler/Arless
who 'Went to War' or 'Killed in Action'.
I am particular interested in a John Brennan who came from Ballickmoyler and
whose fathers name was Mark Brennan and his mothers name was Catherine
(Katie) Lalor from Arless.
John appears on the Irish 1901 census and it suggests t

I have just been looking through my Warren book for Wexford and
found the following entries for Atkin/s. Although these may not have
anything to do with your Atkin/s it may pay to look/search in
these areas as well.
Our Warren's from Wexford are stretched across Wexford, Carlow,
Wexford, Laois (Queens) counties in roughly a straight line.

My sources of Joyce information is a CD from LDS (which is no longer sold).
I have shared this with Jan Morrison. The CD contains photographs of Baptism

have extracted all of the Joyce's in the Baptismal records, including child,
parents, dates, place and godparents. If anyone wants this spreadsheet, let

some difficult to read, so my entries are my best effo
I have just discovered through the 1901 Limerick census my families
originated in County Carlow. Has anyone come across Robert WATTS b circa
1832, father Thomas WATTS? Also Ann ADAMS b circa 1833, father Alexander

The families were in Kilkenny by 1860s. I had thought they came from
Kilkenny until now and had given up on finding anymore due to the parish
records in Kilkenny being destroyed by fire. Hoping this new discovery will
open the door again. Both families were COI. Any help or i

WAZZA,Is it true of my info that County Carlow research is expensive &
sometimes not too fruitful.
I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR A JAMES ATKINS BORN AROUND 1830 FOR SOMETIME &
HAVING SENT NUMEROUS MAILINGS & NOT RECEIVING ONE REPLY FOR WHAT APPEARS

Hello Dan
It was good to see your reply to the above query...... it
is help like this that makes this the List it is .. one of the best. Also a
good example of generosity, and reminds us all that perhaps we also could be
supportive to queries asked on any List.

Hi eveyone
I am looking for the surnames Moody and
Procter/Proctor in Co. Carlow / Co. Wicklow and
Dougall and Dyer in Co. Antrim.
Does anyone have access to Griffith's Valuation who
might be able to let me know if there are any entries
for these names? Or could you tell me how I can
access it myself (I'm in the UK)?
I am hoping to be able to go to Ireland in November,
but in the meantime would like to find out as much
information as possible.
Thank you,
Rachel

Hi Listers
Would anyone be able to tell me which cemetery a Presbyterian or a member of
the Church of Ireland, who died in Carlow between 1853 and 1901 would
probably have been buried in? I'm looking for the death of Thomas
Richardson who lived in Montgomery Street, Carlow Town. I had originally
thought that he would have been Church of Ireland but have just found his
wife, Mary, listed as a widow, and a Presbyterian, on the 1901 Census.
Thank you
Helen Richards nee Richardson

Richardson,
Can you tell me what the Carlow Project is please? I hope to visit in
search of the elusive ancestors in 2001 so need all the help I can get!
