Hi Janice,
Thanks for your kind offer. Do you have anything on a Sarah HEGARTY in
North Donegal, possibly born c. 1860. Areas of interest are Burt, Muff,
Fahan, Inch Island etc. She was the informant on the birth registration
of my grandmother Mary Eliza BEATTIE daughter of John BEATTIE and
Cassie McNAUGHER in 1895. They lived in Drumhaggart, Parish of Burt.
No rush, just interested in any info. I can get on my family and maybe
their neighbours.
Cheers,
MAGGIE

Hi Diana,
I don't know if you query was directed to me, but I have put a note on
re McNaught recently. I am interested in the evolution of the name from
McConnor to McNaugher to McNaught/McNaughton and it now seems McNitt. It
is not the Scottish McNaught. McConnor is an ancient Irish name.
However in my searching I found William McNUTT married to Catherine HAYS
9 December 1858 Carrigart, Mevagh. They had five recorded children born
between 1860 and 1866 one born at Rosguill and another Creevy. If you
I have seen quite a few of these MONTREAL CANADA marriages from another
list, is it OK to post these to IRELAND lists

Hello,
I have found a clue that leads me to believe that my Dennis Boyce b. 1805 in Ireland; d. 1887 in Ohio, USA; m. Hannah Sweeney about 1840, may have come from County Donegal. Their children that I know of so far are:
Daniel b. 1842,
James b. 1845,
Jennie b. 1860,
Eunice b. either 1859 or 1861.
All were born in Ireland.
I believe they immigrated to the USA in 1866. The brothers were naturalized in Ironton, OH in 1879.
Daniel b. 1842 in Ireland; d. 1903 in Ohio; m. Katherine O'Keefe.
Their son,
Well Janice, I have or had O'Donnell in Donegal. I surmise that surname
passes as Donnell these days. I also have a land records section for Donegal
and Galway if you want to post records. I'll help and someday what we do
will help a researcher.

Looking for family from Donegal County. Their names were Samuel and Mary
Moore and their son-Samuel Moore and his wife Rebecca Davis (married 1845)
and their son, Samuel Moore born abt. 1847. They emigrated to Iowa between
1847 and 1850 and settled in Scott County.
The were married in Ramelton Church and were from Cloony and Drumheive in
Donegal. I am looking for information on them and ancestors in Ireland. I
am also looking for emigration information on them.
Thank you,

I hope to post these soon. I have been told that when the name changes, this
is when the person died or immigrated, but usually died if the surname
stayed the same.
It is for Mountcharles, Beefpark area, which is on the OS map 11, 78/89.

only for Beefpark and I have the sections, too.
I will post what I have for future researchers.

MARS SPECTACULAR!
The Red Planet is about to be spectacular! This month and
next, Earth is catching up with Mars in an encounter that
will culminate in the closest approach between the two
planets in recorded history. The next time Mars may come
this close is in 2287. Due to the way Jupiter's gravity
tugs on Mars and perturbs its orbit, astronomers can only
be certain that Mars has not come this close to Earth in
the Last 5,000 years, but it may be as long as 60,000 years
before it happens again.

I have been told a McNutt (sometimes written McNitt) family intermarried
with a Hay or Hays family near the area of Aughadachor Glen back in the late
1600's and probably later too. Do you have a connection with the Hay's?

I am looking for both Crosson (MacCrossan) and Keady in Co Donegal.
Both immigrants came to the US, one in 1829 and one in 1839-40.
Ideas or at least confirmation of the surname would be gratefully
appreciated.
