Can anyone assist me in tracking down a Rev. J. Coombes, who along with a
M.T. Bruck, has done research into the CLERKE family of Skibbereen who I am

Early this month I obtained a photocopied article written by a M.T. Bruck
(Craigower, Penicuik, Scotland) entitled 'Ellen and Agnes Clerke of
Skibbereen, Scholars and Writers' that appeared in no. 3 (1993) of Seanchas

Catherine's husband Dennis was publican of The Travellers Rest Inn, South Main Street, Cork. They had 13 children and all remained in Ireland with the exception of two daughters named Ellen and Catherine who migrated to Australia to join their grandparents.

I'm looking for information on John O'Connell, born about 1800-1820. He
married Catherine Helen, born May 1825. Their daughter, Elizabeth
O'Connell (b :Aug. 10, 1851) married Daniel Mahoney Aug. 10, 1869 in
Goleen, Schull parish, Cork. On the marriage record, Elizabeth was
listed as living in Naughaughter and Daniel was listed as living in
Ballybouge. I've looked in the online index for townlands, and did not
find either of these places. Can anyone help with that? I'm assuming

According to the record the marriage was solemnized at the Roman
Catholic Chapel of Goleen. Looking at the record again, Ballybouge, the
second "b" could very well be a "v" instead. Making it Ballyvouge. And

Hi listers,
New year.....old names revisited and relisted!
Looking for any relatives of the JOHNSONs of Cork Road in Bandon c 1900.
Lawrence Johnson (81) was listed in the 1911 census as an unemployed farm
steward. Sarah Johnson, his daughter (24) was a witness at my grandmother's
marriage (Sarah SHANNON to Cecil HOPKINS) and my gr aunt's (Mary SHANNON to
Joseph BRIAN). I believe Sarah JOHNSON was a cousin. It is possible that
Lawrence JOHNSON was married to a HOSFORD.
Any help would be much appreciated.
