Hi Liam Thanks for your comments and URLs. Re Townlands, Killinchy is the only one that's even close to the "Killincherry" which I have. I have found no trace of the EARLY name in Co. Down, so have had to assume that they were passing through, possibly due to even earlier army involvement with the garrison town of Lisburn. Hello List After a long lay-off, I'm again hunting a couple of illusive fellows from Co Down. Michael EARLY, b. ca 1800, Killinchy. Married to a girl named Ann....He joined the British Army ab 1825 (54th Regiment of Foot) He was posted to Madras, India. His wife, Ann, was with the Regt. They had 2 children in India, both born in Cannanore: Helen b 1828, and Frederick b 1830.
