Margaret Mulcahy was born June 1864 in Limerick, raised by her cousin Mary
Ellen Fitzgerald. Her parents were Martin and Margaret Mulcahy. She died in
Manhattan, NY on Dec. 27, 1943. I believe she had a sister named Brigid, maybe
more sisters. She married John Skelly in 1891.
Does anyone know this Margaret Mulcahy?

Received today by snailmail from 3rd cousin in Ireland a copy of:
Second Statutory Term
Land Law Acts
Rule 125
dated Nov. 25, 1894
with Application by Tenant or Landlord to Court for Fair Rent, on the back Schedule of Improvements Claimed.
I did a Google search and found some information - but can someone clarify if this was the beginning process for tenants to purchase the land they had worked for so many years from the landlord.
County: Limerick, Poor Law Union: Limerick, Electoral Dic - sorry can't
Wendy,
Have you tried to locate Patrick Delahide in the Griffith's, which
were taken in the 1850's so it may have him listed if he was married by
this time.

I receive the Limerick email list in digest form, but have not received

Robyn,
The civil parish of Kilfinnane surrounds the town of Kilfinnane, which is
about 5 miles SE of Kilmallock. The civil parish extends about 1 mile to the
west, 2 miles to the north and south, and 2 to 3 miles to the east and northeast
of the town itself.
If you mean the RC parish of Kilfinane (no double "n"), this also includes
the civil parish of Particles - and perhaps the main section of Ardpatri

Richard Smyth married Honora/Mary Rice 29 SEP 1870 at St Mary's Parish
entry 368. Richard and Honora had the following children - all born in
Limerick City and baptised at St John's Roman Catholic Church:
Mary Smyth c 02 JUL 1871 at 419, City No. 3
Ellen Smyth c Abt 31 AUG 1872
John Smyth c 01 JUL 1873 in Limerick City No. 3
Richard Smyth c 06
In this case, 'Garrett' could also be a surname that was given to a new baby
to honor the surname of a grandmother or other relative.

Julian,
I have come across many Mulcahy's in the Kilcolman, Monagay, Newcastle West,
Ardagh areas of Limerick. My ggg-grandfather Daniel Mulcahy married a Mary
Cregan about 1828-9. Daniel was from Monagay but they settled in
Kilcolman. The area is called Carrons now. Daniel's direct descendants
still live in the same house. As far as I know they didn't have a daughter
Mary. I only know of Daniel's sisters Catherine and Johanna but it is
possible he had brothers also who could have a daughter Mary of
