My husband died two weeks ago and I'm trying to clear the computer of

have no interest in.
Please take me off the list or send me a note telling me how to do it.
Many thanks,

Have posted several years ago but still stuck on finding further info on
John William Horgan, "native to Limerick", according to his RIC records. He
was a member of the RIC from 1865-1889. He was born about 1846.
Don`t know where.
Father named as George (Maxwell??) Horgan, farmer, on Johns marriage
certificate.
John married Margaret Coveney from Tracton area of Cork in 1876. They had
four children, John Coveney Horgan, Father Patrick Horgan, Margaret Horgan
and Dr. Michael Horgan. looking for any other

John,
I'll have to confess that, once I found the Castletown townlands, I stopped
looking any further. I guess civil parishes would have been next on my list.
I'm not sure if your location is the answer (just because there is no village

I am wondering where I should write for records for my O'Brien and Buckley families
They lived near Ballingary, County Limerick -- Do I write to the church in that parish? or
is there a central depository of records that would be better?

Sorry, I don't have the ordnance maps for the areas, but if our

The cemetery records for St. Laurence Cemetery in Limerick are available
through the LDS catalog. The film number for the 1896 - 1935 Cemetery
Register is 1419440. You can order it at your local LDS Family History Center.
St. Laurence is the main cemetery in Limerick and has records back to 1855.
You might find John McKeough's burial listed there.

Robyn,
The townland (and civil parish) of Killavinoge is located in N. Tipperary
riding, on the Laois border about 8 miles SSE of Roscrea town. The small
townland of Killavenoge is located in Shanrahan civil parish, South Tipp., about 2
and a half miles due north of Ballyporeen town/village.

Have you contacted theTipperary Family History Research Centre in Tipperary Town (www.tfhr.org), which keeps the RC records of baptism & marriage? Golden Pages has the current phone book listings....the post master often knows the local families (such as whether there are still Ryan-Larrys). The Cappamore Historical Society also might be able to shed some light on your family. They were tremendously helpful to me (Ryan-Droichead family of Dromalty). Good luck! Nancy Peregrine

Marie, I was just replying to John O'Connell's suugestion that
the, then, Catholic parish of Castletown near Doon (East Limerick) was a
likely source for you to check.
And the clue of a graveyard near a Catholic church is, of course, no help at
all to you, as most,if not all, townlands has one of each.
Btw, if you have a photo of the local church, then someone, such as our
resident cartographer, Pete, might be able to indentify the location.

I am researching a family of Bennett from Templemore/Old Town & a couple of other places in Tipperary.
This family were Church of Ireland, some were clergy. Would any of the listers know anything of this family or where might I start to find any information about them, is there a library in Templemore? if any probate survives who would hold them?
Does Templemore have a local historian? I would like to get hold of one of those little books that they publish which are so useful when researching your family.
Cindy - I certainly agree with you! When we were first in Ireland, we
did the driving thing, staying in a different place virtually every
night - only for @10 days - covering Ireland from Galway to Dingle to
Kinsale to Dublin and back. It was absolutely draining and I would not
recommend it. I guess we thought we would never be back.
I'm planning a 2006 trip right now and am keenly interested in what this
list is chatting about.
The main focus of this new trip will be the Ward ancestral grounds in

Hi Stacey
I found a second cousin in Kilcolman, near Shanagolden, by looking up the
old phone books in our State Library and writing to several KENNELLYs in
that area. It took 12 months, but one recipient passed the letter on to
someone he thought was my relly. He wasn't, but he in turn passed it on to
my cousin. Happy ending! Everyone told me I was crazy and not to hold my
breath, so you can be lucky.
Cheers
