Hi Sheila
There was a 1834 religious census of Granard civil parish. If there was
a census in 1830, I have no knowledge of it.
Looking at this 1834 census .. I do not see a Drumnacrehir listed as one
of the townlands in Granard. Any idea where this info came from? You may
want to check for it in the Alpha Index to Townlands and Towns to verfiy
that it is in Granard parish.
Good luck!

I am researching John Carson b. March 17, 1806 in Kilglass Parish, Longford
Co. He had a sister Susan b. 1797 and a brother George who went to Granby
Que Canada by 1830. Susan married James Leavy and went to Rhode Island by
1831. John was in the 65th regiment of the British Army, married Eliza
Wynne of Queen's County and eventually settled (1845) in Grenville County,
near Prescott, Ontario. Any information on parents would be gratefully
received. As far as I know, they were Church of Ireland, tho
There is a townland named Ranaghanbaun in the civil parish of
Abbeylara. Very close to the name you have, with the "R" left off, and
the rest is similar.

I believe these are my great-great grandparents. They had a son, John Clark
(my grandfather) who came to America and married Katherine Griffith (also
native Irish) in Brooklyn, NY in 1912. My mother ( Mary Duck nee Mary
Catherine Clark) was born in Boston, MA 1914. My Mother is alive and well
living with my sister in Florida.

Hi,
Honestly, I got quite lucky. I posted a message at Rootsweb.com, under the
topic of Longford/General asking if anyone could tell me where Shroid was,
as I couldn't find it on any maps. David Leahy replied, telling me where
it is and giving me the census information. I later found out, that he has
two books published regarding Longford:

Still seeking information on Major R A MORROW, who was Chief Commissary of Ordnance, Athlone, County Westmeath. I think the initials may be Robert Arthur but could also be Richard Arthur.
Believe the original spelling of MORROW was MORROGH, any information in this regard would be appreciated.
Riggs, McCutchan, Mossman, are some of the Longford names.

For the Roll Call:
I am researching my grandmother's family. Her name is Mary Eleanor (or
Ella Mary or Ellen Mary) Denning. Each spelling was found on birth
certificates or death notice. She was born 1878 (?) and died Nov. 17,
1945 at Ballygarron, Rathowen. She was the wife of Thomas Lloyd and they
lived in Streete & Ballymahon. Her parents may be John Denning and Ellen
Sheppard, but have no proof. Would be most happy to find her parents and
any siblings.
