Carol,
I was pleased with the search that Carmel Rice at the Meath Heritage & Genealogy did for me in
their records. I paid for a $25 preliminary search and then sent another $25 US for a complete
search and it was done quickly.

I just inquired to the Meath Heritage Centre in Trim
for records on my Daly relatives from Kells. Has
anyone used their services and would like to share
their dealings with the Centre? Please email me,
thanks.

Dear Lists,
Please forgive the paltry info. I don't have alot to go on and hope someday to make a connection. The Baileys were a quiet bunch, never said much unless something had to be said.
Never a hint of family business or scandals,(sigh!) Here we go!

Hi Jerry!
Quite a while since I have seen an inquiry from you. You can check your
local FHL, for the passenger lists and order the film from Salt Lake. The
archives in San Bruno have some New York lists, but don't know the years. You
can probably give them a call and they should be able to tell you if the year
you need is in their files.
Tel 415-876-9009.

Does anyone know where I would start looking in Co. Meath for Michael J.
Garry, b. Sept. 26, 1833 20 miles from Dublin? I have not been able to
locate any parents names but for death certificate which states, father
Peter Garry. Michael emigrated to the US abt. 1849. Are there census
records or ship records to look at? He ended up marrying Mary Foley also an
emigrant, b. 1841, Lakes of Killarney. I have no info on her al well. Any
ideas from anyone where to start?

For those who may also have relatives from County Cork and haven't dropped by in the past month or so, we would like to welcome you to visit us.
We have over-hauled the site substantially. The surname query board now has over 3600 on-line messages to search.
Additionally, there are many useful on-line resource links have
been added in the past month, both for Cork, Ireland, and genealogy in
general.

For those who may not know it, detailed maps of each county in Ireland
are available from Quintin Publications.
www.quintinpublications.com
They must have been survey maps, and are detailed down to the location
of churches and houses.
You'll need a magnifying glass.

Here is the April list of County Meath surnames being researched by our
list members. If you would like to add your surname(s) to the list, please
send the info to the list (at IRL-MEATH-L@rootsweb.com) and put RC or Roll
Call in the subject line with your surname. I ask you to do this so that I
know I'm being asked to add a new surname to the list rather just having a
list member repost their interests.
If your surname is already on the list, please don't put RC or Roll Call in
your subject line.

The National Archives at 201 Varick Street in New York City is where the
passenger lists to New York are maintained. There is an index, but it is
only for the years 1897-1902.
If you know the date your ancestor arrived in NYC, I would suggest writing
to NARA at the above address and asking them to do a search for a fee.

I want to thank those who replied to my question on
the Meath Heritage Center, in Trim. Everyone has
confirmed my positive dealings with them and I look
forward to their future results in my family search.
