Searching for DOYLE connections in the early 1800's. My John Doyle remarked
that he was from Conna Hill near the town of Gorey in Wexford County. He
immigrated to New Orleans pre Civil War, married a Fermanagh girl named Mary
Faulkner in New Orleans. He was a blacksmith in New Orleans. He joined the
Union troops at the end of the first year of the Civil War and served with
the 3rd Mass. Volunteer Cavalry as a blacksmith.
I do not have a birthdate for John Doyle but figure he was born in the
1820's.

Hi Cara,
I am looking for a WIlliam O'NEIL who immigrated to Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada before 1840 when his son, James Patrick was born. He married Elizabeth Mahoney of Antigonish Harbor. Since I can find no indication, as yet, of the existance of his parents in Nova Scotia, I am assuming he immigrated as a young man.
Does this mesh with any information you have?
Thanks

We believe we have a Mary Doyle that married David Bolger, again in the
Gorey, Wexford area. They had a daughter, Catherine (Abt 1829-1905) who
married Hugh Carten.
If those names sound familiar to anyone, I'd love to hear from you.

Hi Barbara - I have a Perry O'Neil who immigrated from County Wexford I
believe before 1831 - (this the date of his naturalization) He must not
have come too much before. His youngest daughter - born about 1828 -
shows born in Ireland in one or more sources and in Canada in at least
one source. I believe the other children were all born in Ireland
(Catherine 1812 - James 1818 - Mary 1820)
Catherine's husband - Thomas Fitzsimmons has a possible Nova Scotia
connection - that I get not so much from him - si

Yes I am; my gggrandfather was Owen Thomas Connick and he was born in
Wexford; his mother was Emilia Anastasia O'Neil and his father Eugenius

that they lived in Wexford around 1846.
I would welcome any lead or information that might help me out.

There is great news for those searching for relatives who may have come to
Canada.
It appears that the bill to have open access to the 1911 census has passed
both the Senate & the House of Commons and we shall shortly have access to
these records.
A time of great jubilation for all those who worked so tirelessly on this
project nad my hat is off to them all!
It has been a long wait but worth it in the end!
Break out the champagne!!!!!!!
