Thanks for your kind offer to help. Can you see if you have a William RYAN in Wexford,
born about 1812, married about 1838 and emigrated to Canada between 1843-1847. Thank you.

Hi all,
I'm new to the list, and thought I could introduce my Irish ancestor who
came to Quebec.
So, I am looking for any tidbits of info on a John Sheedy born County Clare
Ireland and settled in St-Jean-Chrysostome NOT Chateauguay but Levis County
Quebec before 1861.
Married 1- Mary Ellen Doonan April 09 1861 St-Jean-Chrysostome Quebec.
Married 2- Marcelline Vallee April 22 1866 St-Jean-Chrysostome Quebec.
For those of you who frequently visit a LDS Centre in Quebec, I'd be really
grateful if you could
Congratulations Kenny
That certainly looks like your Cora. I wouldn't let an age difference
deter me. I'm convinced my ancestors didn't know how old they were. Also,
parents get their children mixed up and women and men lie about their ages,
and young people think
their elderly relatives are much older than they really are. I think you
have just found a gold mine and can now start investigating Cora's sibs which
will help convince you that this Cora is yours. Good luck
Sue
I would like to contact anyone researching these or related families. My
family tree contains the names of 325 McGILL/MAGILL relatives. I have used
the surname spelling MAGILL for all of them in my surname database as it
varied back and forth on different records and even between siblings of the
same
family. There are also 231 of my BYERS relatives and related families
listed.
Recently I was told of an out of print book which was privately published in
1981 by Thelma Quarry and Albert A. "Sam" Adams and
For those of you looking for info on Point St. Charles the next neighbourhood over going west from Griffintown in Montreal, where a lot of Irish lived I found these. The first one is just great as there doesn't seem to be a lot of info on Point St. Charles even when you look up the french spelling Pointe-St-Charles

Took the survey and tried to submit it. Told me it was incomplete and wiped
it out twice. Seems you don't need or don't want help from outside Canada?
I must comment that it seems such a good idea to approach the consolidation
and presentation of information in this manner. We have GenWeb which I am
sure you have checked out. It is a state by state project and most
successful. anyway, Good luck with your endeavors. Dorothe Turley
reasearching Prince Edward and Hastings Counties.
I have a friend from there whose ancestors were Irish and I know there were
a lot of Irish living there. You could try your surname here
http://www.familysearch.org/ go to Canadian census 1881.

Searching for information on the Peter/Margaret Daley family. They went from
County Meath, Ireland to Melancthon, Grey East, Ontario in ca 1850. First
located on the 1851 census there. As far as is known Peter died prior to the
1861 census and Margaret lived out her life there. She died in ca 1889.
Appreciate any and all information on the family. Jim Allen in Oregon.
I was just checking out Ancestry's NEW 1930 census images for Braintree,
Norfolk Co., Massachusetts :) and I have learned that my 2nd gr. gr'dma
