JAMES, born in Alabama (per census records)ca 1830-1835. His wife was Louise M. "Lonny" JAMES, daughter of George THOMPSON and Nancy BENNETT. Alfred A. Hi Cousin Max, Some info I have on your William Atlee James b. 3/4/1831 m. (1st) Rebecca Lamar on 4/13/1850. They had children: Henry, John and Crissie Ann (who m. in 1879 Henry Wilder of Greene, Butler Co., Iowa). Wm. Atlee James m. a second time (don't have her name) and they had children: Emma, Charlie and Clara. (See pg. 33 of Atlee Book). Don't have anything further. No information to give you. My James family seems to have used the biblical names also. I have Ezsner, Laban, Isom, Newberry, Ambros, Pleasant, Solomon, Isaac. As far back as I can go is Laban James, b NC 1769. Then he was married in 1800 in Grainger TN, and family then ends up in Alabama. Probably no help, but who knows one day we might find a link. It can be read online or downloaded. Thomas James was born in Kentucky, moved to Illinois in 1803, and to Missouri in 1807. Jacklyn: My grandfather, A. P. James, was one of twelve children born in PA. He and brother Thomas Isett James migrated to Belvedire, NE, while brother William Atlee James migrated to Mt. Vernon, IA. William Atlee was born Mar 4, 1831, and married Rebecca Lemar in Mt. Vernon, IA, Apr 13, 1850. Your Andrew Jackson James was born in IA in 1854 and could possibly be the offspring of William Atlee and Rebecca James.
