I have a ggg gf Joseph Jemison born 5/24/1793 in MD and died 2/16/1862 in
MN. Joseph married Susan Ritchie born 6/16/1790 in PA and died 9/26/1875 in
MN. They both lived in Bedford County, PA where Susan was born. I would
like to get more info on Joseph and his family. Would he be of Scot or
Irish descent and how would the name have been pronounced?
It seems to me the Shetlands were a home to many Jamiesons for many a year.
Does anyone know about this northernly home? Was it inhabited by the
invading Vikings (with the Jamieson name)?
