IF, James H Jenkins is a descendant of William Jenkins, there are
probably 3 missing generations between them.
William Jenkins, as far as I know did not have a middle name, nor proven
to be born in Richmond Co VA. I wish I knew who is parents were too.
Good luck,

Does anyone have a Census lookup that has Indexes for 1850 and 1860. I
am wanting to find out more info on Amosy Jenkins. Can anyone look him
up. He may have been in the Towns of Farmersville or Ellicottville in
Cattaraugus County, NY. His approximate DOB is 1828. In the 1850 Census
he is on pg. 234 (backside) living with a Jabez Blackmon. Is there an
address?
In 1860, he should be married to Sarah Mead and have some children, one
being William A. born 1851. After 1850, he may be back to the

My Jenkins family starts with Peggy aka Delpha Jenkins born 31 March 1806 possibly Montgomery Co. NY. Her parents may be John & Margaret ? Jenkins. She married James Reasoner in 1826 probably in Montgomery Co. or possibly Herkimer Co. NY. Peggy & James had 8 children including my Ezra Reasoner born in Orleans Co. NY in 1835. Peggy died in Niagra Co. NY 29 March 1942. James remarried to a Sarah Robards and moved his family to Kalamazoo Co. MI.
Does anyone know about his family?
Thank you,
Lois and List,
I have a Jenkins family from New York which by 1860 had moved to Illinois.
Head of household was Dennis H. Jenkins, born around 1826 in New York. Married

Emma, born about 1852 in New York; Eugene Dennis, born about 1857 in Illinois;
Lydia, born about 1869 in Illinois; and Charles, born about 1876 in Illinois.
The 1880 census also shows Dennis' mother Rebecca, born about 1790 in New
York, her parents born Ver

I live in upstate NY, though was born and raised in the suburbs of
Philly. My mothers maiden name is Jenkins, though her father decided to
arbitrarily drop the 's' from Jenkins along the way.
She and her Jenkin(s) family were from the Philadelphia area. Her
grandfather, James Thomas Jenkins, was a stone cutter and came from
Cornwall England sometime in the mid-1880's. I am still working on trying
to find out exactly when he arrived in Philadelphia and unfortunately know
nothing else about his pare
